We are looking for a Field Engineer for our office in Västerås

Your Role

In this role you will work as a Field Engineer for our Service division. The Field Engineer is responsible for the field engineering scope related to one or more fleet maintenance projects. In addition this position will be involved in various other engineering tasks related to the Bombardier Transportation Service business, for example project and system engineering work, both during bids and execution.

You will work very closely together with the other functions of Bombardier Service Sweden.

Your Challenges

• Solving technical problems on short term and resolution of technical problems on long term related to the maintenance execution in order to increase safety and reliability or decrease cost
• Ensure technical support to the project manager and the operational team whenever needed
• Have a complete understanding of the maintenance regime of the fleet and suggest ways to improve it and support all the engineering work related to the project
• Execute various engineering tasks on projects and bids
• Giving feedback from the field towards different projects and bids

Your Experience and Qualifications

• Engineering degree (or Technician but at Engineering level by experience)
• At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience
• Extensive knowledge of rolling stock (vehicles) and their maintenance
• Good detailed knowledge of a least 4 or 5 train systems
• Fluent in English

As a person you are a communicative team player who likes and can influence others. You are analytical and can easily overview situation without getting lost in the details. You are good at networking, always alert and good at taking your own initiatives.
