IT Operation Manager for an international company

In DFDS Group IT, we are looking to appoint an IT Operation Manager.

You will be responsible of a team of 9 dedicated and talented employees, report to the General Manager IT, support & infrastructure and be based at DFDS Headquarters in Copenhagen.

Datacenter management
As our current IT Operation Manager is retiring we are looking for an experienced manager with a solid knowledge of supervising and maintenance of data centres. You will be responsible for the company owned data center at HQ, our secondary datacenter for disaster recovery purposes, as well as the local sites across northern Europe &  UK, in addition to this IT infrastructure onboard our vessels is also within your scope.  You will work closely together with the Solution Architect, Facilities, Security, and Technical teams.

Your role includes the following

• Daily management and project planning in the data center
• Respond to escalation and emergency requests from IT support (7X24X365)
• Perform resource planning, cost estimation, budgdet development and cost control
• Provide vendor management, vendor selections, and manage vendor relationships
• Hardware and Software/License purchasing and accounting 
• Ensure spare part levels are met at all times.
• Participate in design and construction phases of data center.
• Remain current with respect to the data center industry to ensure innovative technologies where relevant
• Responsible for 2nd. and 3rd. level support team
• Contribute to the overall hosting strategy for the company.
• Coaching & sparring with employees

Expected background and skills
We expect you to have a solid technical background combined with a relevant education within IT. You have several years of experience in operating large enterprise infrastructure and have been responsible for data centers consisting of more local units across borders. It is important that you have several years of leadership experience within a technical department. You are good a keeping timetables for the projects you are involved in and you are good a communicating with your colleagues. Moreover you are passionate about software and hardware and motivated by technical challenges.

We expect you to have the following professional qualifications

• Experience with VMware or other Virtualization products
• Experience with 2. and 3. level customer support on operations
• Experience with MS Technologies
• Experience with Citrix environment
• Experience with MS QL
• Experience with Standardized processes based on ITIL best practice.
• Experience with Windows 2003/2008
• Fluency in oral and written English as well as Danish

There will be some business travel, approximately 30 days a year, as you will visit our different location.
