Who are you?

• You are a passionate programmer and among the very best. You care about code quality, robustness, clarity, and documentation. You like to be involved with everything from high-level design to actual coding and debugging
• You take responsibility for the projects you are part of. You want the entire result to be excellent, not just your own part of it. You are comfortable with reviewing the code of other programmers and having your own code reviewed for constructive feedback
• You probably have an academic background, such as a Ph.D. or master's degree in computer science or a related field. You may have years of industry experience or be fresh out of school
• Ideally, you have broad knowledge and experience with different tools, frameworks and programming languages. We are not interested in specific technologies as much as demonstrated ability to learn on your own as the need arises. You have heard of Java and either have experience programming in it or can pick it up quickly
• You speak and write English fluently

What you will be doing
We use Java and Eclipse as our major development platform. We use a mature in-house development framework for our code. Our Java programs run on Linux-based cloud servers and - using our own compiler technology - on client platforms such as Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS, Android and even Flash.
Depending on your skills and interests, and our changing business needs, you may end up working on:

• optimization of our core streaming technology using TCP, UDP and IP multicast
• automatic allocation of server resources in response to changing real-time demands
• integration with media codecs, players, encoders and DRM systems
• collection and analysis of performance and usage data
• tools for monitoring, managing and configuring our streaming system
• integration with browsers and mobile/embedded devices
