DONG Energy IT is looking for a Senior Application Consultant to join our Logistics team in Trading IT. The Logistics team is responsible for managing and supporting a variety of complex IT solutions which support the business processes in Energy Markets 24/7. Energy Markets purchases, sells and transports power and gas on the north-west European energy markets and is highly dependent on the performance and functionality of the supporting IT systems.

Logistics currently consists of 9 highly skilled employees who have a deep knowledge of business processes in Energy Markets and the IT solutions supporting these. It is the responsibility of Logistics to maintain stable operation at all times and ensure that systems and applications are adapted to continuously support the ever changing business needs.

Responsibilities and tasks
You will be responsible for maintenance and support of complex applications including documentation, configuration, solution design, testing and release. As Senior Application Consultant you will have a close relation to relevant business units and build deep knowledge of business processes and daily routines. You will prepare proposals for solutions to business cases and projects and assist the business in choice of applications and technology. You will contribute to resolution of operational issues, advanced technical troubleshooting and analysis of incidents and problems.

Primary tasks

• 2nd level IT support to business.
• Participate in operational 24/7 service call duties.
• Plan and follow up on application development strategy.
• Write technical specifications for programmers and system vendors.
• Write test cases and carry out tests.
• Ensure that documentation is developed and maintained.
• Participate in and lead activities in projects.
• Coordinate internal and external resources in relation to development of specific application areas.

Your profile - Education and Experience
You have a Master or Bachelor within computer science, engineering or other relevant higher technical education.

You have experience in management of complex applications and are used to translate business requirements into technical specifications and design.

You are used to work efficiently with colleagues from the business and take responsibility for the progress and quality of deliveries.

You have a strong interest in the Energy Trading and transportation business and possibly also working experience from the Energy sector.

Personal competences
You have the ability to think analytical and handle complex problems and you make rational judgements from the available information.

You have a strong ability to learn and share knowledge with your colleagues and can persistently climb a steep learning curve.

You can manage multiple tasks at the same time and are dedicated to reach goals despite challenges and obstacles.
