Senior Facilities Engineer (Arctic) for DONG Energy Exploration and Production (E&P)

DONG E&P, a subsidiary of the DONG Group, conducts upstream operations in oil and natural gas.

We operate and participate in a wide range of offshore exploration and production activities in the Danish, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Norwegian and United Kingdom (West of Shetlands) sectors. The E&P business unit has experienced significant growth over recent years and faces exciting new challenges across its expanding portfolio of exploration, development and production assets.

Our Technology and Operations division provides advanced engineering services to develop, engineer, operate and maintain our offshore installations via the Offshore Technology (OT) group. We have six departments within the OT division, which includes the Facilities department. This group reviews field development options for new prospects and supports major Greenfield projects as they progress through the value chain to delivery. Due to ongoing growth we are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer, who would like to be a part of our team and specialize in arctic developments. The successful candidate would be expected to be involved in a wide variety of work across our assets, with particular focus on the Greenland and Northern Norway/Barents Sea areas. Input would be required across the business value chain, from business acquisitions, to reviewing new oil & gas prospects, and involvement in large greenfield projects, where appropriate.

Your Tasks

• Provide cost and schedule estimates for early stage economics assessments & recommend further activities to reduce project risk
• Initiate and manage resources, budgets and the delivery from multi-disciplinary teams designing field development facilities (from the wellhead to the final delivery point, including subsea equipment & pipelines).
• Manage sub-contractors, including design teams, fabricators, suppliers and implementation crews
• Lead independent PEER reviews of DONG projects and partner developments for project gate reviews
• Assist in recruitment, mentorship and development of facilities staff

Your profile

• Degree (Bachelor or Masters) in an engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years experience within the oil & gas industry + experience as a Facilities Engineer
• Experience with arctic conditions, either as an operator or in design
• Working knowledge of relevant international codes, standards and industrial practices

In addition experience is desired in the following areas:

• Project engineering experience in offshore greenfield, or major brownfield environments
• Knowledge of production and drilling operations in the hydrocarbon industry, particularly in harsh conditions
• Oil/gas production company experience is required. Consultant/contractor experience also considered, if it includes O&M support responsibilities
• Experience in working with, and managing, engineering/contracting companies, fabricators, equipment suppliers and construction/commissioning crews
• Self-motivated, team player, with a drive to execute
• Good communication skills, including oral and written reporting, must be fluent in English
• Must have the confidence to be able to interface at all levels of an organisation (internally & with external partners and regulatory authorities)
• Flexibility and the ability to travel, depending upon project requirements
