For the Global Siting department in Brande, Denmark, we are looking for a CFD Siting Engineer. The department is globally responsible for the development and implementation of new tools and methodologies for micro siting, terrain and climatic evaluation, wind resource mapping, and wind turbine load evaluation. Global Siting comprises dedicated wind experts who coordinate wind and site related activities with colleagues around the world.
Work Assignments
As a CFD Siting Engineer you will assist in the development of wind resource analysis tools, and your responsibilities will include application of CFD tools in connection with micro siting, energy yield calculations and load approvals.
More specifically, your work assignments will include:
- Optimizing wind turbine site layouts, covering all phases from wind analysis to complete CFD layout
- Visiting sites in order to perform site and wind assessments
- Developing calculations and analysis tools
- Investigating the possibility of combining remote sensing (SODAR/LIDAR) and CFD
Your Profile
You have an MSc, or ideally a PhD, in fluid dynamics combined with 3+ years of CFD experience. In addition, you have a thorough knowledge of Linux, software programming, OpenFOAM and CFD research codes, and you are an experienced user of Matlab, Ansys CFX and / or Windsim.
As a person you are innovative and result-oriented, and you possess strong analytical skills. You have a structured and quality-conscious approach to your work and the ability to work independently as well as in teams. Furthermore, you possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing.
