For the Global Siting department in Brande, Denmark, we are looking for a Siting Statistician with a strong background in database analysis, risk assessment, performance evaluation and optimization techniques. The department is globally responsible for the development and implementation of new tools and methodologies for micro siting, terrain and climatic evaluation, wind resource mapping, and wind turbine load evaluation. Global Siting comprises dedicated wind experts who coordinate wind and site related activities with colleagues around the world.
Work Assignments
As a Siting Statistician you will assist in the development of wind resource analysis and risk assessment tools. You will be responsible for developing data analysis tools, performing automated statistical analyses of large data sets and improving risk assessment of new wind farms.
More specifically, your work assignments will include:
Your Profile
You have a statistical background at Master's or ideally PhD level combined with extensive experience with database design and implementation in Microsoft SQL. In addition, you are familiar with one or more programming languages and high performance computing, and you have an interest in wind, terrain, aerodynamics and dynamically loaded constructions.
As a person you possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and you find it easy to acquire new knowledge and manage scientifically complex issues. You have a structured and detail-oriented approach to your work and the ability to work independently as well as in teams. Furthermore, you thrive in an international environment and possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing.
