Software Development Engineer in Test
You will be responsible for developing and expanding our automated test framework and our tests themselves.
The framework is used for executing a variety of functional and integration tests. You will use your programming skills to write test code that runs inside our various test harnesses to trap bugs early in the development cycle. Unity is investing heavily in test automation and this is your opportunity to contribute to this growth area. In this position you will report to the QA Manager.
You will have the opportunity to work with various devices, including mobiles (iOS and Android) and consoles (Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii).
We invest heavily in build automation and automated testing. We use a combination of TeamCity, FogBugz, Kiln and Mercurial.
This is a full-time programming position for someone with excellent problem solving and programming skills.
Goals and responsibilities:
- Develop and expand Unity's automated testing framework.
- Figure out where we are missing test coverage, and write missing tests.
- Re-write existing tests so that they are of appropriate quality.
- Develop new testing frameworks for devices and use cases we have not addressed yet.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in software development. Fresh graduates will not be considered.
- Superior programming skills in C# or C++.
- Experience writing automated tests and a good understanding of software testing in general.
- Motivation and a good attitude
- Passion for technology is a must
- Must be a critical thinker, have a keen eye for quality from an analytical perspective, be self-motivated, and be willing to represent the customer experience to stakeholders
- Must have a "make it happen" approach and be able to work in a fast moving "all hands to the pump" environment
