System Consultant, DONG Energy IT

DONG Energy IT is looking for a System Consultant to join our Logistics team in Trading IT. The Logistics team is responsible for developing and managing a variety of complex IT solutions which support the business processes in Energy Markets. Energy Markets purchases, sells and transports power and gas on the north-west European energy markets and is highly dependent on the performance and functionality of the supporting IT systems 24/7.

Logistics currently consists of 8 highly skilled employees who have a deep knowledge of business processes in Energy Markets and the IT solutions supporting these. It is the responsibility of Logistics to maintain stable operation at all times and ensure that systems and applications are adapted to continuously support the ever changing business needs.

Responsibilities and tasks
You will be responsible for development, maintenance and support of applications, tools and interfaces that complement specific business functionality which cannot be accommodated by the core standard IT solutions. You will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, documenting, deployment and maintenance. As System Consultant you will have a close relation to relevant business units and build knowledge of business processes and daily routines. You will be working in collaboration with IT colleagues in Denmark and abroad in project groups and independently. You will be involved in 2nd and 3rd level support by contributing to resolution of operational issues, advanced technical troubleshooting and analysis of incidents and problems.

Primary tasks

• Design and develop applications, tools, interfaces and reports
• Work closely with IT business analysts to understand business requirements
• Resolution of operational issues, advanced technical troubleshooting and analysis of incidents and problems
• Correction of errors in existing code
• Reengineering and improvement of existing tools and applications
• Unit and integration test of code changes
• Write documentation
• 2nd and 3rd level IT support to business
• Participate in operational 24/7 service call duties.

Your profile - Education and Experience
You have a Master or Bachelor within computer science, engineering or other relevant higher technical education. You have designed, developed and unit tested applications or tools using VB, Excel VBA, .NET and SQL. We expect you to be experienced with database design and development e.g. Oracle and MS SQL server, and you are familiar with integrating tools and databases in client/server and N-tier solutions. You also have experience in building and consuming web services.

You are used to work efficiently with other colleagues and take responsibility for the progress and quality of deliveries. You have an interest in the Energy Trading and transportation business and possibly also working experience from the Energy sector. You are fluent in Danish and English.
