Wanted: Fiery Java Web Developer (Valtech Aarhus)

Big ticket enterprise web platforms offer a world of challenges; sometimes they’re the backbone of major commerce sites, sometimes they support transaction based intra- or extranets or perhaps a plethora of websites. So, if you are cool with that and happy to work with everything right from integration services to web sites and mobile channels, then read on!

Our most Java focused team is looking for a new buddy to tackle major platforms such as:

• WebSphere Portal Server and Commerce Server for sophisticated transaction based extranets and commerce sites
• J2EE …
• Android mobile development

As a trusted digital partner for some seriously big ticket clients, we get to work on tons of exciting digital projects. And it’s across the board. Be it next-generation unifying intranets, multi-channel commerce, global e-communication platforms, and mobile stuff too, of course! What do you say?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Your CV screams technology! You have probably worked your way around loads of java infused projects and perhaps crossed over from software to web development?
• Yet, you’re not a one note band. You’ve developed web applications for some time and have experience with a variety of Internet-based technologies.
• You love IT, but you’re not afraid to talk technology with businesspeople – basically meaning that you know how to talk about what you do in terms everyone can understand and you can define a problem and its solution in 10 words or less.
• You’re a bit of a digital nerd. We work at the forefront of the digital marketing space. Our clients expect us to inspire them, so you need to come up with prolific ideas based on the latest cool stuff.
• People would leave their kids with you. That’s how trustworthy you are. And that comes in handy, because, when you work with us, you won’t have anyone checking your timecards or looking over your shoulder, but when it becomes time to put up, we need you to wow us, and our clients.
• You’re opinionated, but you know when to listen to others’ opinions too.
• “Semper Gumby” is your motto. You’re comfortable shifting workplaces, customers and assignments – whatever it takes to come up with great work.
• You’d rather sell your computer than miss a deadline. That’s how seriously you take them. 

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• You’ll work in a cross-disciplinary team developing projects and giving advice on which tools, methodology and models that should be used for each project and ensuring a high-quality final product.
• You’ll troubleshoot, tune, and develop enhancements to existing solutions and new ones from scratch of course!
• You’ll design and model object oriented stuff.
• You’ll develop system descriptions and requirements.
• Your projects will require you to interact with our entire organisation, including our creative team and engagement (account) managers.
• You’ll be key to presenting ideas, technical designs and more when facing the clients.
• Since a great deal of our work culture centers around learning from each other, you’ll be expected to share your knowledge and act as a teacher and mentor, contributing insight based on your own unique background and specialties

We pay well and do so transparently.
Valtech is only as good as the people who work here. Since we all play an equal role in our success or failure, we should all be treated as equals. So, we all have 5 weeks of holidays and an additional 3 days off on specific dates. We all get 6% in company paid pension scheme contribution (after 6 months of employment). We all share the same health insurance. We are all subject to the same non-solicitation clause. We all enjoy broadband at home, a smartphone and a PC/MAC. And all consultants share the same bonus scheme with up to two months’ extra pay a year.

For this role, the base salary is estimated between DKK 30.000 - 35.000 per month dependent on match, qualifications and experience.
