We are looking for Bid Managers in Denmark

Arbejdssted: Copenhagen

Our Nordic Sales & Marketing organization gathers our best sales-, bid- and solution resources in the Nordics in a cross industry vertical sales capability, aiming at significantly improving our success in winning new business to our region.

As Bid manager, you will have the overall responsibility for the preparation of CSC's bids for existing as well as new clients. In cooperation with the Sales Lead, you will manage all phases of the bid project all the way up to contract signing - this includes managing plans and the bid budget, ensuring the right staffing and the timely coordination of the bid team - and obviously making sure that we produce a first-class bid which adheres to CSC's standards.

As bid manager you will be cooperating with various parts of the organization within both sales and delivery. We also expect our bid managers to take part in the process of streamlining our bid strategy e.g. by continuously assessing ongoing work with specific opportunities and by contributing to the development of a "best practice" based process. The position is Nordic, based in the country where you live. You will be expected to work in all of the Nordic countries, and therefore you should expect a lot of travelling from time to time. You will be located in Copenhagen and report into the Head of Bid Management in the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling all bid schedules and client deliveries and make sure all the bid related processes and procedures are kept and that the necessary approvals are in place.
  • In cooperation with the Sales Lead, define the Sales Strategy. Together, you will create the win themes that best support our bid and not least the client's expectations and you must ensure that these themes are made apparent all through the bid, in all documentation, and in all presentations.
  • Plan, organize, and effectively prioritize tasks to get the best out of the available resources.
  • Manage, develop and encourage the team to make sure objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Work closely together with Solution Lead. You understand and are able to articulate the technical solution on an overall level.
  • Assessing and interpreting the client's needs and making sure the strategy, the background for the qualification and the analysis of the competition is appropriate for the opportunity in question - and you challenge it when necessary.
  • Manage stakeholders. Together with the Sales Lead you must ensure that management is kept informed and buy into the proposed commercial, delivery and risk structures of the deal.
  • Contribute to the negotiations with the clients and cooperate with the Sales Lead, Solution Lead, and Commercial Lead to handle the process ending with the contract signing.
  • Plan, forecast, manage and take primary accountability for bid budgets.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • You have at least 5 years of Bid Management or Programme Management experience, preferably within the IT industry or across industries in the private and public sector.
  • You have a documented list of results from successful bids.
  • You have commercial acumen and an insight into business development, the sales environment and our competition.
  • You have an understanding for the commercial proposition and the ability to outline it.
  • You are able to lead and motivate a bid team with the proper authority and respect.
  • You have excellent communication skills, e.g. you are experienced in presenting at management level.
  • You speak and write at least one Nordic language as well as English at negotiation level.
  • You have excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • You have an excellent ability to establish and nurse client relations.

Key Competencies
You are focused and highly motivated. You strive to be the best within you field of expertise and you are able to conjure up the proper win mentality in your team. You are able to work independently with the development of alternative options and assess future opportunities or challenges.

You have a winning, tactful, and diplomatic approach in relation to staff, peers, clients, and senior management. You see both the client's and the team's needs before they arise and act on it. You are flexible as the work hours and workload may vary significantly, and you are sometimes expected to work both nights and weekends and travel extensively. And you enjoy delivering the great service, which the client expects from CSC.

In CSC we attach no importance to age, sex, colour of the skin, or religion. For us it is on the contrary important that you have the necessary qualifications and are interested in development. We have an employee development program that includes both professional and personal competencies. You are therefore ensured to get a good foundation to influence and develop your future career.
