Consultant and Project Manager - IT, Processes, Business

My background

After 2 intense years in preparatory classes (“superior maths” and “special maths”), and excellent ranking at competitive examinations, I entered one of the so-called French Top Graduate Elite Schools – from which I graduated in Advanced Electricity and Mechanics in 1994 (higher degree equiv. MSc+, passed with distinction).

My career so far

After a short period as a mathematics/physics teacher, I started my career as a consultant, first as an IT project manager for Capgemini, at the time when the French company was merging with the consulting branch of Ernst & Young.

I soon realised that I had great abilities in helping my customers specifying their needs and then working towards building a holistic solution, encompassing much more than IT. This is when I started following a trend, going towards more and more complex and strategic assignments, and soon moving from IT consulting to management/strategy consulting.

Probably one of my greatest chances at that time has been to be able to join the internal consulting arm of the French defence group Thales. There, I was able to manage assignments in a privileged way, as both an insider and a renowned advisor, also giving me the opportunity to travel extensively.

After several years based in Paris, I wanted to give my career a twist and leverage my nascent multicultural profil by going abroad.

I started with Switzerland in what I would call a “proximate expatriation”, before heading to Denmark. This particular last move was bold for multiple reasons, as it was also the first time that I would join a “normal” company – i.e. not a consultancy.
