Head of Data Management at BICC in Maersk Line

Maersk Line is commencing a new and exciting journey to build up our Business Intelligence Competency Centre. Solid anchored within our Business Finance setup the aim is to strengthen the link between IT and business within the BI space and thereby taking performance management and reporting to the next level.In this context, we are looking for a Head of Data Management to be part of our journey and the challenges ahead when establishing the department. You will lead our Data Management team and be a member of the BICC leadership team, where you will be part of shaping the direction for the department and the overall BI Strategy for the company.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Data Management you will lead and develop a team of dedicated and talented business consultants. You will also work closely with our extended team in the global shared service center in India and the Philippines

You will be responsible for ensuring that ownership of our Business Intelligence data and reports are anchored in the business.

You will be responsible for the governance frameworks around Business Intelligence data and reports, ensuring that the business is enabled with the right data at the right time while compliant to Group policies and applicable legislation.

The overall vision is to ensure BI is recognized for agility, speed and scalability while efficiently enabling the organization with relevant data for informed decision-making. And you will play an important role in driving this.

Who we are looking for

We will be looking for true top performers with a proven track record:

  • The ideal candidate has a relevant Master degree and a minimum of 7-10 years experience within Business Intelligence from a consulting or a global shipping/logistics company
  • You have previously implemented a business driven data governance framework that spans multiple functions
  • A clear vision for how data management can help an organization operate in a more agile and flexible way.
  • Experience from developing teams and from working with extended teams across geographies
  • Strategic mind-set and an ability to convert complex problems into pragmatic, practical solutions
  • Ability to work across an organisation and engage with senior management
  • Strong personal impact with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
