Senior BI Project Manager

Setting up and execution of the assigned Projects with Responsibility in:
- Adoption and methodical execution of the Maersk Line project model
- Production and maintenance of all the required project Artefacts
- Production and active management of both the Project Plan and RAID registers.
Setting up and ongoing maintenance of Project governance which includes:
- Project team governance (meetings/reviews)
- Project boards and Steering groups
- Integrating into the BI Programme Governance, which will include project heartbeats and Programme Boards
- Timely update of the focal point project information set
Resourcing up and maintaining the project resources (both BI and business), by working with the various functional BI resources, managers or business heads.
Management of project to Budget and artefact/delivery Quality.
Clear communication to Key Stakeholders and the BI Programme Manager.
Ensuring that all deliverables meet the expected quality and do not impact the production platform.
Actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Project Management disciplines within the BIMDM team.
Actively mentor and guide junior members of the BI project management team. This will include taking responsibility for the line management of a number of junior project managers.
Build, foster and leverage relationships across the MLIT organisation to both secure new data, resolve integration issues and ensure e-2-e operational execution.
Understand and actively contribute to the evolution of the Information Management Strategy.
Actively take responsibility for building and managing the relationship on behalf of BI with a business vertical / business functional group.
Who we are looking for
- At least 10 years of Project Management Experience (Prince II certified)
- At least 10 years of Business Intelligence / Analytics Experience
- Educated to degree level
- Excellent Stakeholder and communication skills
- Excellent proficiency in Project Management disciplines and toolsets (Microsoft Project, Excel, MS word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in various Delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)
- Excellent Experience in deployment of BI/Analytics frontend platforms and reporting (MSBI/MicroStrategy/Business objects)
- ETL/Integration/Presentation Layer
- Presentation Layer (use of FACTS/ Dimensions / Attributes)
- Data Acquisition and Data Quality
Solid Understanding of Technical platforms and their capability:
- Base data warehouse platforms (Teradata, others)
- Big Data Platforms (Aster / Hadoop)
Solid understanding/Experience of the delivery lifecycle Processes/Function:
- Business Analysis
- Solution Architecture – Data analysis and mapping/ modelling
- Development – backend, Presentation layer and reporting
- Testing – Functional / SIT / UAT
- Release management
- Business change
- Deployment / Go Live
Excellent communications skills - Ensure high level of communication with key stakeholders and internal team members. Is able to compile clear and professional presentations (PowerPoint) as well has delivering clear and impactful presentations
Collaboration skills and negotiation skills and ability to multi-task at a high level
Shipping/Logistics Experience (not essential but preferred)
Charismatic leader with the ability to enthuse and excite both his customers and project team.
Resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision whilst maintaining a calm disposition.
Is able to delve into the detail of activities that have gone off track and readjust them.
Excellent Written and Verbal skills (communication) with people at all levels across the organisation in English.
Is well versed on the evolution of the data ecosystems and technological advancements in hardware, software and various techniques.
