Solution Architect to Architecture and Transition/Credit and Capital

Can you support the business with solutions of high quality to build customer relationships in the digital channels and ensure effective use of capital? Then you are the profile we need.

The position we offer

Transition & Architecture is a team of architects working across Credit & Capital. The primary focus is the intentional architecture (Enterprise Architecture on a business domain level). This covers ongoing idea maturation and architecture refinement across the Credit and Capital department as well as participation across related parts of the surrounding organisation.

Architectural deliverables are within the disciplines of motivation, business-, logical information-, and logical application architecture. This is done in close cooperation with our Domain Architects and Solution Architects that are placed inside and across our agile organisation in Credit & Capital.

In addition to taking part in developing the intentional architecture, your special role in the team will be to bridge the gap from our logical architecture to the physical design anchored in the delivery factories and development teams.

  • Guide Solution Architects and developers in understanding how separation of concern in a logical design can be realized in the design
  • Guide how the qualities and restrictions in a conceptual service architecture can be supported in given physical service design

We are looking for a person that is confident in abstract thinking and logical modelling understanding the need and use of this. At the same time you must be able to place yourself in the role of the developer and communicate and guide within the limitations and opportunities of concrete implementation technologies.

While you might have a background founded in a previous role as an expert developer or expert software architect, your focus will be to guide our senior developers and solution architects in using the higher level architectures for their architecture and designs. Additionally, your focus will be on participating in further development of the intentional architecture, processes, standard views and notation for this.

As a Nordic based international bank, an active awareness of cultural differences is important in order to be successful. You should also expect travelling at times and be prepared for working virtually across several different countries.

The qualifications you need

You are an experienced solution architect with strong communication skills, broad architecture experience and excellent driver skills.

Your primary skills as an architect in this job will be to “implement the strategy”. In order to do so, you must be able to communicate to leaders and work at several abstraction levels, logical as well as physical. We expect that you:

  • Are an architect at heart
  • Start with a conceptual or logical architecture
  • Are interested in people, and have experience from being a mediator or coach towards technical employees
  • Are a fast learner in what you need to know of a software implementation environment or middleware product
  • Have experience in working in an agile organisation
  • Are skilled in architecture method and notations and have been modelling extensively yourself
  • Have experience in communicating architectures and business implications at various level of management
  • Probably have experience from working in a large international company with a comprehensive governance setup and several architects roles that need to coordinate their effort
  • Have architecture experience from operational system-/application architecture rather than solely infrastructure or data warehousing
  • Have experience in working in an agile organisation

It is a definite plus if you have experience doing concrete development work, e.g. as a developer and/or solutions architect and have insight into test, quality assurance and “software engineering”. Business knowledge from the financial industry will be a benefit, but is not required.

We are located in central Copenhagen and support Credit and Capital as well as business partners across the whole of Nordea, which means that you must expect some travel and have excellent English communication skills.
