We are facing the challenge of upgrading several IT and Automation systems in our pilot facilities in Bagsværd and Gentofte. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT and Automation Specialist to take professional charge of optimising and standardising our IT and Automation processes.

About the department
CMC Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Development is a part of CMC Development counting approximately 500 employees. We are responsible of producing the API and to secure the process development of new API candidates for all of Novo Nordisk’s drug candidates. In API Technical Support, we have gathered a new team that are working with operation, support, compliance and qualification of our IT and Automation systems. Our team consists of 18 employees which is a part of a larger Technical Support team of 50 employees. Not only do we support on IT cross functions but also on HVAC, utilities, maintenance and qualification of equipment for the production of API. We are a growing team in a development process where we continuously look at how we in the best way can support the business in the future.
In the role as Senior IT and Automation Specialist, your responsibility will be divided into four main areas. First you will contribute with your knowledge and opinions with regards to how systems support the manufacturing process and give advice with regards to the systems and best-practice.
Second, you will be responsible of training colleagues and team members advancing their knowledge and competences within the systems hereunder building relevant training material and guidelines. Third, you will develop the design and strategy of the systems, upgrades and implementations. Finally, you will take on the responsibility to “Lean” processes and procedures as well as facilitate workshops aiming for simplicity and effective operation.
Right now we are preparing the implementation of control systems and several large standalone systems in one of our new pilot plants. Today we are operating a broad portfolio of systems like Delta V, Sattline, Siemens BMS and PLC and several SCADA platforms. You will have a key role in setting the strategy towards the right solutions and meeting validation of IT compliance standards.
In order to be a success in this role you have earned a Master's degree within technical or natural sciences like Engineer or Pharmaceutics. You have a minimum of eight years of experience with qualifying automation and computer systems within the pharmaceutical industry. Thus, you are familiar with the industries and its system requirements. Working with GMP and validation is routine for you and experience from secondary production systems like PLC, SCADA, MES is required. You are familiar with facilitating training sessions and developing training material.
As a person, you have a structured and systematic approach and you are convincing in your argumentation in order to gain influence. Your communicating skills give you credibility and make you a preferred sparring partner towards the entire API organisation and the stakeholders in the business. You are eager to build relations with people and take initiative to drive the processes forward. Further, we like to see a person that handles challenges in a positive way with the ability to create followership and motivate colleagues and business partners towards common goals.
