Technology Experimentation internship with the largest Danish IT product company

Then you may be the intern we are looking for in our Office of Technology in KMD - the largest Danish-based IT product company.
The technologies behind areas such as Augmented Reality, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence continue to evolve. Consequently, we are expanding our team that monitors and experiments with such new technologies, to bring their benefits to our clients as fast as possible.
About the team
In KMD’s Office of Technology we are responsible for monitoring new technologies and enabling the implementation of their advantages into our products. We do internal proof-of-concepts with e.g. machine learning and chatbots on different technology platforms and work closely with the product areas and sales to explore business advantages. We co-innovate with clients to explore the potential of technologies in their areas of business.
The Office of Technology (OoT) is a part of the Strategy, Technology and Communication unit at KMD, responsible for driving the overall future direction of KMD.
The internship will place you at the core of a major transformation process and provide you with a strong understanding of how to implement the newest technology in business solutions. The Internship program takes you through a joint introduction to KMD, its transformation journey and how our unit and you will support that journey. It will also include networking sessions and informal gatherings in a company with a large body of young student professionals.
We work in a professional, ambitious and busy environment where you as an intern can expect to take on challenging technology tasks and deliver thorough results with real business impact. You will be provided with the opportunity of experimenting with different software tools and platforms and test your theoretical knowledge in practice.
You will be part of our projects along with other team members and your tasks will focus on bringing business value from technology. Among other things, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop trials on leading cloud platforms such as e.g. Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and IBM Cloud
- Do Pilots and Proof-of-Concepts using technologies such as Predictive Analytics, Blockchain, Machine learning etc.
You are currently studying your masters or the last year of a bachelor degree within Computer Science. We expect that you are among the best in your class. In addition, you might have some work experience with developing software.
- You are a strong programmer (We primarily use C# and Java, however you should be able to quickly learn new languages)
- You are fast at understanding new platforms and libraries
- You have a strong analytical mind
- You are curious, thrive in an informal, innovative environment, have a can-do attitude and independently take initiative
- You are fluent in English and understand Danish.
The internship is in Fall 2018 but the structure, duration and timing is flexible for the right candidate.
- Internship period: Fall 2018 – 4-6 months
- Start date: August or September 2018
- Working hours: Flexible (min. 20 hours a week)
- Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows.
The internship will be at KMDs HQ in Lautrupparken, Ballerup.
