Machine Learning Engineer for Advanced Analytics Team

CONDUCT SMALL-SCALE EXPERIMENTS WITH MACHINE LEARNING ALGORITHMS
IT Digitalization is focused on conducting small scale experiments with various technologies, frameworks and new ways of thinking. We do this within multiple focus areas. One of these is the Advanced Analytics team, where this position is based. The team currently consists of two colleagues and is focused on solving cases that involve machine learning, statistical modeling and other data algorithms.
Energinet’s core business is extremely knowledge intensive and employs high-level specialists such as engineers, data scientists, economists etc. As the Danish Transmission System Operator, Energinet generates massive amounts of data in order to monitor and maintain the Danish power and gas transmission grids. The Advanced Analytics team seeks to explore and realize the vast knowledge potential that exists within the company. We primarily use open source tools, currently focusing on technologies such as numpy, pandas, scikit learn, tensorflow, Keras, git and docker - and we are looking into Spark, Reinforcement Learning and NLP over the next period. PROGRAMMING SKILLS AND THOROUGH MATHEMATICAL UNDERSTANDING
The position combines skills such as programming, facilitation, project management and mathematics. There are various ways into the position; you might have a couple of years of experience from a similar position or as a software engineer - or you have graduated recently. Your educational background could be anything from software engineering to anthropology, as long as you have a strong mathematical understanding and is capable of programming - preferably in Python or R - and know your way around git and linux.
A keen interest in machine learning and mathematical modeling is important, and you should be able to implement models in code. You are capable of discussing solutions with your colleagues in the business units using their own terms, and can proactively interact with all departments to find new potential use-cases. You are curious by nature and able to conduct a use-case on your own together with business stakeholders.
