Web Developer for Wind Resource Assessment applications
The Department of Wind Energy at DTU is internationally recognised for its Wind Resource Assessment software and methodologies. We are expanding how users can interact with our models and data, and we are looking for a Web Developer to make a significant contribution to the development of new tools within our wind resource assessment brand WAsP. As a Web Developer, you will be able to have a direct impact on bringing tools to a global audience and promoting a renewable energy future.
DTU Wind Energy is a mission-driven university department, and our vision is to be the preferred university partner for the global wind energy sector. The department creates value for society by integrating research with education, innovation and research-based consultancy within key fields central to the development and use of wind energy.
You will be based in the Resource Assessment Modelling section (RAM). The section conducts research and works with applications related to the assessment of wind resources for power generation and wind loads on wind turbines and various other structures.
Your main focus will be to support researchers at DTU Wind Energy design new innovative user interfaces for various scientific models. You will develop and expand their APIs to create a more user-friendly experience.
The front-end of the application will be developed using web-based frameworks such as Vue.js, React, and Angular. Please write in your application which framework you would use and explain why it is your preferred tool.
You will also be expected to collaborate with other groups on cross-disciplinary projects within the Department of Wind Energy.
Our expectations of you
You should have:
- Front-end development experience using Web frameworks
- Design and development experience for new user interfaces
- Experience with Python
We prefer that you also have experience with:
- Web-GIS packages (Eg. OpenLayers or Leaflet)
- deploying web-apps on a desktop environment
- developing XML schemas Gitlab
- working on Wind Energy or scientific-based projects
In addition, it is important that you:
- can work independently and efficiently to deliver results on time
- enjoy working as part of an international team in a multi-disciplinary environment
- take the initiative, are good at prioritising and can work under set deadlines
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Salary and terms of employment
Salary and appointment terms will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or the LC/CO10-collective agreement and the organisational agreement for IT employees (PROSA) in the service of the state or other relevant collective agreement.
Your place of work will be at DTU Wind Energy, Risø Campus near Roskilde. The period of employment is 3 years.
