Job description and areas of responsibility:

In the role of Senior Manager of Engineering & QA, you will drive development, scaling and optimisation activities across Pandora’s consumer touchpoints, being overall responsible to ensure the efficient delivery of product strategy and goals. You will be a part of the Pandora IT, Consumer Technology department, and support dynamic cross-functional teams across Consumer, Omni-Channel and Retail product portfolios.

As the department is expanding, you will build up and manage a world-class engineering team to create, scale and maintain high quality software products. Tasks will include defining evolving coding and testing frameworks and languages, for both inhouse and third-party developers, and developing internally published APIs to enable other business areas in Pandora to write to and from the local ecosystem. In all processes, you will ensure security and privacy standards are complied with.

In addition, you will:

  • Build up, lead and coach a team of engineers
  • Ensure unit and system testing within owned code bases
  • Provide third line support for issue resolution
  • Provide technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationally

Your new team:

Pandora is a company with a big heart that takes great pride in treating our people well. You will be part of an exciting business area and work in an international hub of can-do spirited, passionate and performance-driven people. Consumer Technology has just started a transformation where we over the next 12-24 months will implement new ways of working to support the execution of Business Strategy, enable operational excellence and build a data-driven organisation.

Our department consists of two teams, Product Management and Technology & Engineering. As part of the Technology & Engineering team, you will work closely together with a talented group of data engineers, analysts, solution architects, and delivery managers. You will report to the Director of Technology & Engineering and be responsible for four direct reports.

What is needed to succeed:

We envision that you have a strong engineering background, with a university degree within Computer Science, Information Technology or related. You have previously worked to create lean/agile organisations, and it is an advantage if you have worked within the Retail or FMCG industries.

Further to this, you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architecting and building software products from pre-launch through maturity
  • Worked in a leadership position and have experience in recruiting tech talent
  • Worked cross-functionally

Something about you:

You might be the person we are looking for if you breathe IT, enjoy leading a team in high-performance areas and are motivated by finding solutions in at-times ambiguous environments. You look for ways to challenge yourself and are motivated by the prospect of building up a team to ensure delivery of targets. To achieve this, you are structured and set clear goals and objectives, and lead by doing. Furthermore, you are collaborative and supportive, always encouraging your team to grow and succeed.
