Senior Data Engineer, Advanced Analytics

Job description and areas of responsibility:

For our growing Data Platform team within Consumer Technology, we are looking for two new Senior Data Engineers within Advanced Analytics. You will be responsible for expanding and optimising our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimising data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. This will include assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.

As our Senior Data Engineer, you will identify, design and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, amongst other tasks. You will also build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using a wide array of available technologies. In addition, you will create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimising our data products.

Further to the above, you will:

  • Build analytical tools that utilise the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
  • Support our Data Architects, fellow Data Engineers and Data Scientists on new project initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects
  • Work with stakeholders and teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

Our Data Platform team is the epicentre of Pandora’s ambitious plans to become a world leading retailer in Advanced Analytics. We are investing significantly into these ambitions and we leverage a strong position as a fully vertically integrated producer and reseller with internal data sets spanning from Supply to Demand. You will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering & QA.

What is needed to succeed:

We imagine that you have a university degree within Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering. You understand data tools and management, data integration and database development techniques, and have previous experience with relating architectural decision and recommendations to business needs.

Further to this, you have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience from working with Entity Relationship modelling, metadata systems, data quality tools and techniques
  • Worked with BI and reporting
  • Worked with UML (use case and class models)
  • Strong experience with database technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Teradata)
  • Experience developing reference architecture, principles and standards

This role is based in the Pandora Global Office in Copenhagen, Denmark. Candidates should be willing to travel approximately 20 days a year.
