Your Responsibilities as Assistant Software Developer

In your role as Assistant Software Developer your main responsibilities will be to aid our senior developers with tasks across the entire range; from helping with handling daily support incidents, writing-up guides and documents, to improving our test suite and ci/cd setup and aiding on major development projects.

You will be working closely with your colleagues in Business Intelligence and with end-users and other key partners such as our Business Analytics department and IT support.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Monitoring and responding to day-to-day support tickets on data pipeline problems, web-tools, etc.
  • Root-cause corrections to the code base
  • Improving the code quality generally through improving test coverage, etc.
  • General application management
  • Assistance with large-scale projects

Are You the Right Candidate? 

To succeed in the job it is important that you find it motivating to provide high quality service to our many users across the entire organization, and are able to reach out and establish a strong network and relations to our core stakeholders. You have a good ability to prioritize in the incoming tickets and tasks independently, and you can work structured and methodologically in solving both the immediate problem and identifying the long-term root cause in need of attention.

Concretely, we expect that you:

  • Have a bachelor degree in web development, computer science, engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Have good programming skills on a predominantly Microsoft stack (C#, SQL, MVC/Razor, React)
  • Have a solid knowledge of the Azure platform especially with regards to the data-stack
  • Have an understanding of CI/CD processes including test automation and release pipelines
  • Have good oral and written communication skills

Candidates with a master degree will also be considered.

Your Future Colleagues

In the Business Intelligence department we are responsible for the development and maintenance of Abacus’ data warehouse, as well as a core proprietary software suite supporting decision-making and daily processes for trading on the European medicine market. The team consists of 6 in-house software developers.
