About the job

We are looking for a Database and .NET developer to join our team “Datafordeler” that is part of the KMD Technology & Security Services unit. We contribute to the overall goal of developing and operating solutions and products for both the public and private market in Denmark. 

At KMD, we handle and deliver some of the largest and most complex IT projects and solutions in Denmark. You will be part of a team that works with the development and maintenance of a customer solution at one of KMD's key customers.

The position as Database and .NET Developer in KMD gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the continued development of a business-critical system portfolio around data orchestration and a common public IT infrastructure critical for the Danish community. 

You will work closely with the customer, and you should therefore be comfortable moving between development and the business. You thrive with taking responsibility for your tasks from beginning to end and ensure that deliveries are met and that the customers are happy. In addition, you will be part of a professional team, where you collaborate with many committed colleagues and partners in both Denmark and Poland.

Your primary responsibilities and tasks:

  • Maintenance and development of a complex and data-heavy system built on but not limited to the .NET platform.
  • Maintenance of the existing solutions, troubleshooting and ensuring the system runs, performs well and serves the customers properly, on both DB and application levels.
  • Development of new elements within the system.
  • Participate in the specification of tasks with architects and the customer, make estimates of tasks and perform demos for the customer.
  • Help ensure stable operation and high availability.
  • Participate in production guard duty arrangements (Vagtordning).
  • Contribute with potentials for improvement both in terms of quality and features of the system.
  • Contribute with suggestions and ideas for relevant tools and workflow improvements.
  • Help maintain a professional and close relationship with the customer.
  • Cooperate closely with colleagues within a multinational team (Denmark and Poland) on daily basis.

About you

In the role of Database and .NET Developer, you work independently with your tasks, however in close collaboration with the rest of the support and development team, the business, and the customer. As a person, you see yourself as a team player who seeks solutions, and you have a constructive approach to the challenges you face.

You thrive with an unpredictable workday and you take responsibility for your tasks. You take initiative and you are not afraid of taking on new tasks. You also contribute to a good atmosphere in the team. You have a relevant higher education within IT or appropriate compensating experience. You can demonstrate exposure to data heavy systems.

Expected skills and experience:

  • .NET framework
  • SQL, including advanced T-SQL and some knowledge on tuning, optimization, partitioning, sharding etc.
  • REST services, micro-service approach. 

Nice to have:

  • PostgreSQL
  • .NET core
  • Azure DevOps
  • Docker, Kubernetes etc.
  • CI/CD
  • Geo services / GIS
  • Front-end techs such as Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript etc.
  • Python
  • Exposure to Kanban or Scrum.

We expect you to be able to write and speak Danish and English, as the team consists of colleagues in both Denmark and Poland, and most communication is in English.
