We are seeking a highly competent software tester experienced in automated test development, to ensure the high quality of our new flagship instrument software platform. You will be our new lead on developing our test automation platform, as well as be responsible for defining the tests needed for ensuring the overall quality of the platform software development.
You must have an understanding of the full SW development eco system, a firm focus on how automated testing is a crucial part of effective software development and be able to transform this knowledge into executable test cases.
The R&D Software department comprises of more than 80 software developers and makes up for about 1/3 of the R&D organization in FOSS - and we are growing.
The R&D Software department is split into business segment teams and a platform team. The business segment teams deliver the SW for the end products, whereas the platform team control and develop the common functionality and features.
You will be working closely with software developers on our latest software platform, ensuring the platform feature set is tested at a high-quality level. The development team consist of colleagues based in Denmark and Hungary.
Your primary responsibility will be developing automated testing within various aspects of our software platform, ensuring automated testing is carried out between the frontend, backend, and embedded software layers.
- With a tester mindset and perspective, you will be responsible for giving input for testability and automation of the platform software feature set.
- Ensuring the test automation framework is up and running, by keeping the system up to date.
- Identify test cases which are candidates for automation and implement tests cases or assist developers in implementing test cases.
- Transition manual test cases to an automated environment where possible.
- Assist with identifying resolution and reproduction of reported software issues.
Your daily work will be at the FOSS Innovation Center in Hillerød Denmark, with up to 5 traveling days per year.
- You can take ownership of the SW platform tests area and possess the drive to pick up challenges and find solutions for them.
- You have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, including relevant experience in developing, enhancing, and maintaining test automation framework(s) using test automation tools.
- Programming experience in C#, typescript, or relevant scripting languages.
- You are experienced in Agile Software Development and Testing methodologies.
- Being certified in ISTQB test and ISTQB Test Automation is an advantage.
Knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) using Azure DevOps is an advantage.
