Senior Project Director

Are you passionate about leading business-critical Transition and Transformation (T&T) projects to the energy, finance, or public sector? Do you have the capabilities and proven track record of drive large complex it-infrastructure and applications projects to the intended outcome? If so, we need you at KMD.

As a Senior Project Director, you front and drive a large and complex project or program from start to final implementation and realization of the Business Case. As T&T projects at KMD have large and critical infrastructure services from our sub-contractors, you will pay close attention to the collaboration with our vendors. Furthermore, a T&T project is typically business-critical, and consequently, there is high attention from both our customers' and KMD's top management. 

Further responsibilities are: 

  • Manage all aspects of the T&T project or program within the Business Case, the contract obligations, and governance
  • Provide leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Determine the project execution approach, mitigate risks, monitor, and control deliverables
  • Hand over to operation and mature the organizational setup up for the future operational mode, including use of subcontractors managed through a SIAM-setup
  • Deliver substantial value to the customers business and achieve a good Customer Satisfaction score
  • Executive management reporting and communication with customer, several vendors, stakeholders, and management
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with project or program stakeholders and sponsors 
  • Manage contractual obligations and signoff towards the customers
  • Fruitful collaboration with all vendors and contract management to ensure the deliverables, quality and intended outcomes 
  • Ad hoc peer review or participation in presales to safeguard a project 

We are offering a position, where:

  • You belong to Strategic Projects under TSP (Technology Services and Projects), with approx. 50 Project Managers located in both Denmark and Poland.
  • You will lead a complex T&T project now and have a possibility to lead different project types, project complexity and customers projects over time.
  • You will be supported by, e.g., business, infrastructure and applications specialists, architects, developers, and test resources. 
  • You can influence our Project Management methods and artefacts – including agile project execution, benefits management - by bringing your knowledge about leading practice hereof. 
  • You will be part of the Project Management Community, where we aim to share experiences across projects and challenge each other to improve our project management capabilities.

About you

We are looking for a new colleague who has strong project management capabilities and personal strength, energy, and resilience to drive major changes in complex organizations. You always have the business in mind, are driven by creating business results and have an appreciative approach to collaboration and your leadership role.

In addition, we expect that:

  • You have at least 10 years of project management experience within complex infrastructure and/or application projects.
  • You have proven success in driving T&T programs
  • You have a solid commercial understanding and ensure prioritization according to customers’ needs and the Business Case.
  • You can build strong relationships through effective stakeholder management and mentoring of your team members.
  • You manage a complex vendor setup and have experience in designing suitable governance to safeguard the services and deliverables from several vendors.
  • You work creatively and analytically in problem-solving situations and facilitate the process to leverage synergy from the team.
  • You have excellent communication skills that bring clear and positive communication with customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • You can apply it-contracts to ensure project success. 
  • You have good experience with using both agile and waterfall principles and knowing how to choose the most suitable approach to execute the deliverables.
  • You have experience in leading geographically and multicultural organizations
  • You hold an IPMA B certification or equivalent, Prince 2 and certification with the agile methods
  • You hold and ITIL certification
  • You have sufficient IT and Service Management knowledge to drive a T&T project and mitigate risks successfully.
  • You as a person, take responsibility, you act proactive and credibility with a “sense of urgency.” 
  • You are willing to travel in business.
  • You are fluent in both Danish and English.

There is a perfect match if you have:

  • Experience from both the end-customer and IT Service industry 
  • Experience with the Finance, Public or Energy sector
  • Experience with transition to Cloud
  • Experience with organizational implementation
  • Experience with EU tender and excel in execution projects governed by Public Contracts
