Java Developer - E-commerce

Our customer has a long history, is well established in Denmark and is also constantly growing in an international market. Along with their physical stores, the company has several e-commerce solutions to support the growth of their brands.
They have an ambitious digital strategy which seeks to provide the best customer experience before, during and after purchases, whether online or in stores.
This is the opportunity to become a part of a team of 7 Java Developers, who implement new features and improve the performance of the e-commerce platforms.
In the position as Java Developer, you will become a part of a digital team with Java developers, UX designers, frontend- and CMS developers, SEO and Content Management experts as well as colleagues from digital marketing.
It is expected that you can build robust solutions, with focus on the customer journey. The platform is at a point where the solution needs further improvements, that will help stabilize it for future expectations of performance needs and deliver on new demands from the business.
You will be involved in the development process all the way from idea, design, code review, test, deployment to follow up.
Have you ever considered taking on the role of SCRUM Master? In this position it is a possibility, and you will get the training needed to manage that role alongside with your work as Java developer.
What you’ll do:
- Write easy to understand code that’s resilient, testable and scalable.
- Work in an agile team with focus on continuous delivery, getting minimal viable functionality into production instead of long-lived development cycles.
- Participate in and contribute to design ideas, innovation, code reviews, test setup (automated), continuous integration, continuous deployment, and most importantly objective and constructive discussions.
We expect that you have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and understands how to work with scalable and test-friendly code.
Additionally, you can redesign legacy code as well as mature it.
You have experience with asynchronous programming, preferably Java and Spring.
The services are primarily built with contemporary Java and Spring, with supportive tooling in a host of other languages. Docker is used extensively (OpenShift), both for development and in production. The team develop first and foremost on GNU/Linux and the services run on GNU/Linux.
