About the job

You will be part of a small team that works closely together with relevant stakeholders from the client in order to fulfill the delivery of this project. We maintain a high professional standard and good technical understanding, and we are proud to deliver high-quality solutions. Right now, we need a skilled colleague who is passionate about creating effective solutions in close collaboration with customers.

Your physical workplace will vary as you will be in our client’s office in central Copenhagen most days, but you will also spend some of your time in our headquarters in Ballerup. We strive to provide you with challenging and interesting tasks at work and at the same time secure a good balance between work and private life.

As a Senior Java Developer your primary responsibilities will be to translate functional requirements into specific technical solutions that provide changes in application functionality. You will work with continued development and maintenance of existing solutions. Furthermore, you will contribute towards improving the quality of the solutions and the tools that support development work. Also, you will participate in the specification and estimation of tasks.

Besides the small group you will work with on a daily basis, you will be part of KMDs Technology & Security Services where you will join a team of more than 30 dedicated and experienced Java Developers who handle a wide range of development tasks for both private and public sector clients in the Danish society.

About you

We expect that you have a relevant higher education such as IT engineer, Computer Scientist, or Computer Specialist. You are an experienced Java developer who has previously worked with the Capital Market Platform Calypso or you are eager to learn it.

Required skills

  • Experience incorporating Unit Testing in the Development Process (Junit, TestNg)
  • Hands on experience with: 
  • Java 8+
  • one or more relational database systems (Oracle, Postgres)
  • one or more application servers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, WildFly, WebLogic)
  • one or more build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Software Source Code Management tools (e.g. Mercurial, Git)
  • an IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ)
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux and shell scripting

Desired skills

  • Experience using Automated Integration Test frameworks (e.g. Concordion, Cucumber, Fitnesse) 
  • Some experience using Unit Test Mocking frameworks (e.g. JMockit)    
  • Hands on experience using Spring for REST API clients
  • Hands on experience with one or more ORM libraries such as Hibernate
  • Some experience using Docker
  • Knowledge or experience with financial or statistics systems is an advantage
