Team Lead, Engineering

You’re a motivated leader ready to develop people, not just software. We’re a global tech scale-up that needs your help to keep growing. Join us and make an impact.

Queue-it is a tech scale-up that helps the world’s biggest brands manage their busiest days. Our virtual waiting rooms prevent website crashes and bot abuse to create a smoother, fairer online experience for billions of users.

At Queue-it, we’re a diverse team coming from 50+ countries with offices in Denmark, the U.S., and Australia.

About the role

As a Queue-it Team Lead, you’ll coach a team of talented and capable software engineers to success by removing roadblocks, setting an example, and creating direction. You’ll translate the company vision/strategy into actionable tasks and support executive leadership with relevant insights.

At Queue-it, you’ll have a chance to work with a broad range of technologies such as .Net Core, C#, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, Docker, Angular and more – see our stack.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a team of successful software engineers. Shape your team through the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment/hiring through onboarding, engagement, development, rewarding, and (if necessary) offboarding. You’ll ensure that your team has the right skill levels, diverse capabilities, and are kept current with industry standards.
  • Exemplify developer leadership. With an “experience leadership” mindset, you’ll empower your team by clearing obstacles, supporting/elevating their initiatives, and providing ambitious (but achievable) goals. You’ll keep the team accountable to agreed process and deliveries.
  • Impact the direction of software development at Queue-it. With the help of your team, you’ll support the company mission by turning strategy into action and delivering insights to executive leadership to strengthen our development capacities.

  • 5+ years total experience within a software development discipline
  • 2+ years technical leadership and management experience
  • An academic degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or similar

  • Strong focus on people and team development, resulting in high performance and dedication
  • A measured and positive attitude around management, direction, and organizational change
  • Excellent professional English (Danish not required)

Preferred candidates are

  • Servant leaders who recognize that the mission is to develop people, not software
