Backend spe­ci­a­list to operate our business-critical editorial ap­pli­ca­tions

Aller IT manages IT for the Aller Group across the Nordics. You will join a team of colleagues working across the Nordic countries, supporting Aller companies in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark with digital development, subscription, sales and marketing applications and IT operations.

Aller IT is now looking for a dedicated team player to the Editorial Application team, who would like to operate editorial applications in close collaboration with our stakeholders and vendors.

We are looking for a person with backend specialist qualifications

You have:

  • A general IT-technical background and a good understanding of technical complex solutions in a highly available setup
  • Working experience with servers, web servers and SQL servers (Windows, Linux, IIS, Apache, MSSQL, MySQL and more...)
  • Cloud knowledge ideally with AWS, but if not, we will provide you with the required AWS training/certification.
  • Basic scripting experience primarily in Python, as there can be smaller coding tasks. But PowerShell knowledge is also a plus.
  • An extra plus would be knowledge of Git, Puppet and Datadog

You would like to:

  • Be the backend specialist of the team and the “go to” person regarding technical backend issues and discussions
  • Drive and take ownership of our editorial applications, all the backend stuff, and grow in the role
  • Do the job, and document it as well
  • Take part in our dialogue with business units and understand their needs from a technical perspective

The Editorial Application team are a close-knitted team located in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. It is a group of dedicated people with many years of experience within content production.

The applications we use, are all business critical and must be available 24/7/365 to all Aller Media companies in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

The Editorial Application team has a close collaboration with infrastructure operations and with our external IT-partners as well as our business stakeholders. Building and maintaining those relationships is key to our success.
