IT Portfolio Manager
Job Req Number: 53833
Are you ready to expand beyond just managing a set portfolio?
At DSV Solutions, we’re growing fast, making large acquisitions on the regular and currently undergoing a huge transition from traditional IT deliveries to flexible, scalable and fast-paced deliveries. Joining us now gives you great opportunity to influence our portfolios by taking part in redefining them together with top management.
Join the evolution
At DSV Solutions, we partner with our customers to design and deliver logistics solutions that enable efficient operations and increase cost efficiency for hundreds of logistics facilities across the world.
We cover 4 vital delivery areas, including warehouse management systems, automations solutions and a host of connected and core applications that enable freight invoicing and settlement, customs and duty management, package and label scanning and much, much more.
With new demands, legislations and world challenges being a constant for us, we are continuously working to improve our IT so it can keep up and keep ahead. And therefore, we are looking to streamline the portfolio as well as reengineer many of our individual technologies, our roadmap, and our life cycle management.
Global IT, of which DSV Solutions IT is part, is a growing and integral part of the operations of DSV, one of the world’s largest logistics providers. Together, we are around 2000 employees spread across various countries and regions all over the world, giving us a truly global presence.
At DSV, we play a significant role in global logistics operations as one of the world’s largest transport and logistics providers. Looking forward, we are on a mission to become a technological leader within our field, setting the standard for the rest of the industry.
Portfolio management with a twist
Your tasks will in many ways be that of a classic portfolio manager, as you will:
- Create a holistic overview of portfolios, projects, budgets, etc.
- Explore company needs and opportunities for value capturing
- Manage and prioritise between incoming and new project requests and facilitate standard project governance
- Detect and resolve cross-project risks and potential resource issues
- Manage communication towards and from the organisation around the project portfolio
- Ensure standardisation of overviews, dashboards, and documentation across portfolios
However, your role will also have the interesting angle of getting to define those very portfolios and projects in close collaboration with the directors of the various delivery areas.
As such, you will enjoy great variation in your work, focusing on everything from automation and IT security to mergers and acquisitions and the full stack of IT and OT services, such as warehouse management.
“You’ll work very widely and holistically, but you won’t be covering all of our delivery areas at the same time. You’ll get to switch it up regularly, working across delivery areas and delving into the projects that you deem most valuable at the moment.” – Kenneth Svendsen, Head of DSV Solutions IT.
Great responsibilities, great influence
As our IT portfolio manager, you will also have a loud voice in your collaboration with the directors and the CIO of DSV Solutions, who is eager to empower you to take certain decisions together with the management team.
“I won’t hire you to tell you what to do. I’ll hire you to bring us the right information and to tell us what is best to do, as an expert in your field.” – Kenneth.
Can you drive change through excellent collaboration?
With our constant focus on performance and optimisation, it is important that you are highly curious, that you never stop wanting to learn more and that you are always driven to take action when opportunities present themselves.
You must also have a very holistic mindset, enabling you to spot issues and opportunities and drive projects without losing focus on how they can affect surrounding processes and business areas.
Apart from that, we are very open in terms of what your background may be – no specific titles or degrees are necessary, as long as you have:
- Experience with a similar type of role that demands excellent knowledge of stakeholder, project and business management – we imagine it could be as a project manager, business partner or similar
- Sound technological knowledge, not at coding level, but enough to understand our systems and analyse them to identify key issues and formulate conclusions
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, as you will often collaborate with colleagues across borders and even travel approx. 25 days per year
