What you’ll do:

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to be a key player in running, implementing, and securing our platform for the future. This also includes how we adopt a GitOps mindset with automation and infrastructure as code as our primary focus and toolbox. All this supported by advanced monitoring and alerting to keep great uptime across the board in a hybrid environment. More specifically, you can look forward to:

  • Implementing new solutions together with our Technology Product teams
  • Being consulted on technical capabilities to address requirements
  • Being involved in high- and low-level design activities with our Architecture Team
  • Analyse and visualise operational data derived from event logs, metrics, and traces to support actionable insights and automation
  • Developing automations for on-prem and cloud.

How will this role progress? 

Within 3 months, you will: 

  • be onboarded and learn about our ways of working together as a team to enable us to focus and dig into fun and nerdy stuff
  • learn about our datacenter setup and our plans
  • get acquainted with our Product managers and begin to understand our agile ways of working.

 Within 6-12 months, you are: 

  • working on our strategy to become more proactive by running and maintaining our platform with a ‘GitOps orchestration toolset’
  • converting routines into automations with an IaC-mindset
  • creating automations and actions from monitoring events
  • the expert and go-to person for automations and monitoring in our environments
  • certified in a new or already known product
  • delivering new solutions together with our product teams to help change lives through better sight and hearing.

Who you are:

As our new infrastructure specialist, you need to work with multiple cross-functional tasks and conjure up creative and secure solutions or workarounds to exciting and challenging problems. You have an inquisitive and helpful mindset. In this role, the successful candidate is self-motivated and great when it comes to stakeholder communication. Last, but not least, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience and understanding of Tech Operations (ITIL and admin).
  • Qualified understanding of security, hardware platforms and operating systems, network access and hosting.
  • Ability to communicate complex operational and technical matters clearly to both IT professionals and other business colleagues
  • Fluency in English – both verbal and written.

Experience within Agile Practice Management is a plus.

  • Azure compute, storage, security and/or networking
  • GitOps and scripting like Powershell, Python and BASH at proficient or expert level
  • Automation/playbook tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Splunk monitoring and dashboards/ITSI
  • Virtualization and storage technology like VMware, hyper-v, and SAN solutions
  • Advanced networking, SD-WAN/LAN, MPLS, routing/BGP
  • Linux skills are also a plus
