Do you want to be the driving force in building and scaling up a global support organisation for modern in-house developed applications?

Can you lead a team of service minded IT professionals in delivering world class application support, and do terms like cloud technology, microservices and machine learning pique your interest?

If so, you might well be our coming application support manager for DSV’s Digital Enterprise Transformation organisation.

Build a team focused on our most valuable digital products

You will join a large department responsible for developing modern products, in line with DSV’s digital strategy. Our purpose is to generate direct business value for DSV’s business divisions by building advanced end-to-end products, while drawing on state of the art Machine learning / Artificial intelligence capabilities.

The use cases we solve tend to have a high degree of complexity, often requiring non-deterministic problem solving, near real-time data processing, high availability, vertical and horizontal scalability, and a high volume of transactions.

However, technology and machine learning models do not solve the issues at hand alone. We strive to combine our competencies to build holistic solutions where the underlying complexity is hidden for the user, resulting in simple and value-adding experiences.

We have reached a level of maturity and scale where it’s sensible to carve out application support from the product and DevOps teams, and into its own unit, where support can be unified and optimized across all our digital products. You will lead this transition:

  • Build a talented, international, around-the-clock application support team from the ground up
  • Establish effective processes and adopt the use of our ITSM and collaboration tools
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand both business and IT requirements
  • Take responsibility for department incident management and for resolution activities within the SLA
  • Recruit and mentor employees, creating a successful and high performing team
  • Report user satisfaction and team performance metrics to the leadership team

For you to be successful in this position, we imagine that you:

  • Possess a strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity, while being willing to walk in the mud
  • Display outstanding leadership skills and a commitment to continually improving yourself and the people around you
  • Remain calm in trying circumstances
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and command of the English language

Our ideal candidate brings three or more years of experience leading an application support team, and has a bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience. You have foundational knowledge of microservice architecture and ITSM tools, as well as the Atlassian products. Finally, you have experience with surveys, metric collecting and reporting.
