Portfolio manager

Would you like to develop European trading strategies for a global energy trading company? Are you motivated by carrying out complex analyses? And are you curious about the commercial drivers of the European power markets? If so, keep reading – it could be one of the best career decisions you ever make!

Here’s what the job entails

As our new portfolio manager, your primary areas of responsibilities will be to carry out fundamental and statistical analyses of the European power markets as well as model the impact of the energy transition on the future power markets. This work is of high importance as the success of the team is dependent on solid analyses and precise modelling. You will also be trading on various exchanges and interact with our customers (such as owners of wind turbines or photovoltaic parks).

Further, your areas of responsibility will include the following:

  • price and hedge power exposure
  • monitor risk scenarios
  • develop power models (fundamental and statistical)
  • collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders

Meet the team

You will join our European Renewables and Nordic Trading team in which we manage a portfolio of European renewables products such as solar and wind assets. Our field covers all parts of the energy value chain, including both physical and financial trading. Our role is to support our customers in the power markets with bankable products that can support the energy transition.

We are a team of specialists within power pricing and hedging. We analyse and develop our tools in a flat hierarchy culture where models and assumptions are openly discussed in the team and together with relevant stakeholders. We do our own programming and modelling and are key stakeholders in the development of fundamental modelling of the energy markets. We know that successful trading strategies depend on teamwork, and this means that we have a high degree of trust in one another.

"In this job, you will get great insights into long-term power trading, working side-by-side with various energy market participants." - Jacob Staub Olsen, Head of European Renewables & Nordic Trading.
