Backend Developer – Advisory Software (research & in­nova­tion)


Are you a backend developer looking for a meaningful job with impact in the environmental sector? Our company - with main business in water solutions - is looking for a new colleague who would help us develop new solutions by working closely with our researchers – from proof of concepts to marketable products. 

Overall, we are close to 100 developers, architects, and software specialists in Denmark and worldwide, in an organization of about 1000 modelers, engineers, and other experts. We are all driven by a common interest in securing sustainable solutions in the water environment. 

You would work with a small team in a profit for purpose company, to solve problems for people worldwide, with options to work from home multiple days per week. 

What technologies do we work with? 

  • Our backend is in primarily in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET 
  • We use Azure DevOps for issue tracking, bug reporting, code versioning (Git), and deployment 
  • We target primarily Microsoft Azure while running applications in Kubernetes 

What skills and experience are we looking for? 

  • Ability to work and collaborate with others in an agile team environment 
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in backend development, inquisitive mindset 
  • Good knowledge of C#, or very good knowledge of Java and willingness to use C# 
  • Solid spoken and written English (at least level B1) 

What skills and experience are beneficial? 

  • Ability to convert ideas to code and architecture 
  • Some exposure to Python, C++ and other languages can be useful
  • Experience with building REST APIs and web applications can be useful
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD is a big advantage
  • Exposure to spatial, temporal, or multidimensional data processing is an advantage
  • Exposure to relational databases through Entity Framework Core or other technology, ideally with PostgreSQL backend
  • Familiarity with Unit testing
