Corporate Counsel
Continia is looking for you – a highly skilled Corporate Counsel passionate about doing the right thing and driving legal and compliance programs in an international setting.
If you are experienced in designing and executing compliance programs, have a good technical understanding and can turn complex information into simple and actionable matter, this role may be for you.
About your role
As a Corporate Counsel in Continia, you will provide legal, compliance and regulatory advice to our business and help to design and implement programs to support us in the legal landscape.
Continia provides software for accounts payable automation, expense management solutions, and bank integration to more than 18,000 customers worldwide. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with our software and customers, IT security, external invoicing and banking networks, and other external parties globally.
You will be part of risk evaluation, compliance mapping and provide regulatory advice regarding contracts with external technology partners and laws in different countries.
What you will be doing:
- Provide compliance and regulatory advice to the business towards development and engineering, commercial and partner teams, and other functions.
- Take ownership of legal standard agreements and policies such as customer and partner agreements, terms of use, etc.
- Improve and audit internal compliance and security frameworks based on ISAE 3402 and ISO27001/2.
- Design and perform relevant and adequate compliance controls based on compliance risk assessment.
- Contribute to strategic processes such as new partnerships and M&A to provide legal and compliance advice.
- Work with external legal service providers to ensure the interests of our organization are well represented.
- Report compliance risks to management and board of directors.

We imagine you have the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Relevant master's degree, e.g. Master of Law or MSc in Business Administration and Commercial law, MSc in Business Administration and Audit or another relevant field.
- Approximately 2-5 years of work experience from a similar or relevant position in an international setting.
- Good technical understanding that enables you to understand and guide software developers on how to transform contractual or regulatory requirements into concrete and compliant software solutions.
- Proven understanding of compliance, risk and regulatory matters within the tech industry or financial sector.
- Excellent English skills (written and verbal) with the ability to turn complex information into a simple and understandable matter.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
