Senior Software Engineer – impact the future of our drone cloud solution

Do you want to work in an innovative team where we have the mandate to run with new ideas? And do you want to contribute to pushing the limits of technology with cloud-connected drones?

“If you like coming up with creative solutions to complex problems and feel comfortable enough to take on a leading role – you could very well be exactly the person we are looking for,” says Mathias Højgaard Egeberg, Software Lead.

Welcome to Drone Volt

At Drone Volt, we design flying tools for professional applications. Our customers use professional drone platforms to improve their business operations and industries by providing unique insights and automating dangerous or difficult tasks.

We build disruptive technologies that will change the paradigm of many industries and activities, and we work with methods that are more environmentally friendly and safer for human operators.

Join our Cloud team – we ensure safe distance control

You will be part of our Cloud Team, currently consisting of 10 specialised colleagues – 7 of them sitting in Odense, where you will also be based. We develop and maintain the Drone Volt Cloud – a web application through which the user can control drones and manage collected data.

We overall work with making it stable and safe to control your drone from halfway around the world – as well as ensuring management of data and operations.

“We have the benefits of both being part of a stable, global company while still working semi-independently – so if someone has a good idea, we’re usually able to apply it quickly because we have an agile and flat organisation,” Mathias continues.

Spearhead the technical side of our team

As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will be taking technical ownership of the web application and play a big role in how our cloud solution looks in the future.

You will gain a close working relationship not only with the team in Odense, but also with our HQ in Paris and various other European sites.

Among other things, you will be:

  • Designing, implementing, and testing new features for the Drone Volt Cloud®
  • Troubleshooting issues and investigating different solutions
  • Handling database migrations
  • Assisting on-site reliability tasks for our cloud resources
  • Continuously evaluating and improving solution architecture
  • Taking technical ownership of the solution and architecture

“If you’re motivated to work with new technologies and basically lay the foundation as we go – giving you ample opportunity to make your mark – then this is the place to be,” says Mathias.

You are an experienced Software Engineer with an open mindset

With your solid communication skills, you know when to speak and when to listen – enabling you to thrive in an innovative and knowledge-sharing environment. You are also curious and not afraid to step into unknown territory.

And with your high sense of quality and deep knowledge of your specialty, you are motivated to take on a leading technical role in a team.

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

  • Have a master’s degree in software engineering, computer science or similar
  • Have some years of experience with professional software development – the exact number of years is not as important as your personal competencies and work approach
  • Have experience with or knowledge of C#, automated unit and integration tests as well as design patterns such as MVC, CQRS and Dependency Injection
  • Know your way around the Azure cloud services
  • Most likely know your way around ASP.NET framework, SPA frameworks and Blazor (Server/WASM) web framework
  • Have professional proficiency in written and spoken English
