Master Thesis Student
Do you want to take part in providing the latest knowledge from academia to Manufacturing Intelligence solutions in Emerging Technologies (ET)? In this role you will do just that. Your master thesis project will help to deepen our ability to transform data into data-driven choices that enable us to capitalise on the key opportunities within our manufacturing processes – whether it be increasing efficiency, decreasing process deviations or enable higher output quality.
If this sounds interesting to you then we have the perfect master thesis position for you! A team of dedicated developers are waiting to welcome you to be part of a collaborative and autonomous workplace, that interacts with various stakeholders across the ET organisation, apply now!
The position
Production planning is the first step in getting an optimal utilization of the production resources. Due to the natural complexity of the task production planners with a high degree of insight into the production are necessary for the success of the tablet production.
The current approach has been highly reliant on the skill and insight of the planners, with a high degree of cognitive load placed on a few key resources, it is therefore interesting to investigate whether a different planning approach could help alleviate this load.
In this project, we will investigate how to leverage the existing data foundation in collaboration with the introduction of new data models to build an overall more automatic and data driven approach to assist the production planners in their daily work. Different planning approaches will be investigated to find the right fit for the tablet production setup.
Qualifications
- Data engineering
- Production simulation
- Production scheduling
- Network optimisation
- Mathematical programming (MIP)
About the department
The position is anchored in the MI&XR development unit within ET Manufacturing Development and Quality Control, whose key mission is to redefine our manufacturing approach by creating a fully data driven and continuous process for oral tablet formulation and optimise the manufacturing production and analysis from end to end. We aim to create a new paradigm that will alter the approach to drug development by redesigning and digitalising the processes.
Our team consist of 12 highly skilled colleagues with different backgrounds ranging from data scientists, backend developers, frontend developers and data engineers. We work closely together with the MI Product and Strategy team, that provide competencies within the roles of product owners, product managers and UI/UX designers.
With the rapid advancement within data and analytics, we are expanding our team and bringing in new competences and skills. Our ambition is to be the frontier, use the latest techniques and software to draw greater insights and future predictions from the data and thus making a significant impact on how we manage the future manufacturing operation.
