Student for social media data processing

Do you want to collect, process, and analyze social media “big data”? Do you have experience with coding in Python or R? Do you want to work with data that is used to change society? Then you should apply to be our new student.

We would especially like to hear from you if you are interested in one or more of the following topics:

  • Data collection on social media.
  • Scraping in an ethically defensible and scalable way.
  • Linking data across sources.
  • Applying NLP to social media data.
  • Prompt engineering for text annotation.

Who are we?

Common Consultancy is a company that helps organizations, businesses, and authorities understand and navigate a world where the flow of information has drastically changed. We work with data from social media to boil down broad societal issues into understandable consequences for our clients. As part of Common, you can expect to investigate the digital conversation about topics such as energy forms in Europe, attitudes towards the war in Ukraine, and other political topics.

We are nerds and take great pride in being able to translate complex information flows into concrete insights that solve our clients' problems.

About you

  • Familiar with Python or R.
  • Interested in working on more technical data collection tasks such as scraping and 3rd party APIs. It's not a requirement that you have worked with this before, but you should be curious about it.
  • Comfortable in an environment where new tasks can suddenly arise.
  • Can see yourself in a small company, where we share and are responsible for many different small tasks.

We offer

A competitive remuneration and a lot of fun. More importantly, the chance to nerd out with our database that holds more than 55 million posts from all over Europe. From collection, processing and analysis.

Our team and tasks

Currently, we are a team of ten employees, working together across projects in a varied and dynamic work environment under informal conditions at a lovely office next to Copenhagen City Hall. You can find out more on our website: www.commonconsultancy.com
