Network Systems Engineer


Are you experienced in network design, architecture, SD-WAN, and management in both cloud (Azure) and on prem? Then come and join our Infrastructure team, immerse yourself in the world of network design, architecture, and management and get the opportunity to develop your skills within all aspects of network.

Your responsibilities

You will make sure that BAUHAUS Network solutions across all Nordic countries is always up to date, are taking advantage of the newest solutions and is running smoothly and with as little down time as possible.

You will design the network infrastructure, create, and implement new solutions for BAUHAUS in both Azure and on prem and together with the rest of the infrastructure team deliver the most reliable and secure infrastructure for BAUHAUS.

The network group will consist of you as the most experienced one, and two network administrators to support you.

  • Manage current network setup on all physical and cloud location
  • Implement new tools and features into our digital tools and channels
  • Participate on migrations from private cloud to public cloud with network designs
  • Help manage day to day maintenance on network / firewalls and more
  • Design, plan and implement network infrastructure solutions, with special focus on security
  • Look into modern technologies and make sure we are always up to date
  • Participate in all projects that touches on network, upcoming projects:
    • Include Finland and Estonia in the Nordic infrastructure
    • Redesign of Core network infrastructure
    • Shutdown of old Fortigate setup

BAUHAUS is mainly a Cisco and Azure based company when it comes to network, some of the products we are using is:

  • 550 switche, +1800 Access points, +15000 client devices, 115 firewalls, 250 servers, 60 locations, 50 4G routers
  • Cisco Firepower FTD, vFTD
  • Cisco Firepower FMC
  • Cisco ISE for 802.1x
  • Cisco ASAv
  • Cisco Umbrella
  • Cisco Meraki, Switch, AP, Firewall (MX) and vMX, MDM
  • Cisco Nexus and Catalyst
  • Azure, vNET, routing, Load balancing, gateway and more

How will your typical day look like?

We normally start the day with a "stand up" meeting, where we discuss any outstanding issues and agree on priority and support from the other infrastructure members, and then we continue with our individual tasks.

Projects will be a large part of your day, both internal (working on modern technologies, automation, development, and maintenance) and cross platform projects involving several different departments and teams.

Following up on monitoring alerts, tickets and requests related to network together with the "network administrators" will also be part of a normal day procedure.

About you

  • Min. 3 years of experience as Network Systems Engineer or similar position
  • Skilled in network technologies, Azure, hybrid on prem solutions and architecture
  • Skilled in Analytics and Troubleshooting
  • Skilled in firewall technologies and management
  • Skilled in PowerShell, and able to read and write scripts
  • Skilled in all aspects of network security – when, what and how to use it
  • Advanced knowledge of Hardware and Infrastructure, what to use where and how
  • Fluent in Danish and English

It is your advantage if you are familiar with ITIL V3 and have completed any certifications or courses related to the job position, but not a requirement.

This position is based in Tilst (Aarhus) and will include a few traveling days to Sweden / Finland.

About BAUHAUS Nordic IT

Nordic IT is responsible for all IT in the Nordic countries, which currently is Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland - with Finland and Estonia potentially joining later this year.

Nordic IT consists of two major teams: IT business applications and IT Operation where the infrastructure team is part of IT Operations. We are around 80 colleagues and are located mainly in Aarhus and Stockholm.

Nordic IT works independently of our Corporate IT colleagues in Germany, but we do of course share knowledge & support each other.
