Support our Product team with technical deliveries!

We are looking for an important asset to our Product team to support technical delivery into our 5 markets. If you want to be a part of a great team, working with migration processes, Microsoft servers, Azure and legacy into cloud? Then keep on reading.

What you’ll get?

  • Become part of an international team with friendly, smart, and passionate colleagues
  • Enjoy a salary package matching your qualifications with a pension scheme, health insurance, free eye care vouchers and subscription to Headspace and much more
  • Keep on developing in your role with free access to plenty of online learning offers, monthly Great Conversations with your manager, an individual Personal Development Plan that aligns with your talent and ambitions, and lots of responsibility
  • Influence your own ways of working and development plan
  • Great coffee, lots of laughs, table tennis tournaments, regular birthday treats, exciting Christmas parties, virtual Friday quizzes, and much more

What you’ll do?

This role is responsible for building products our end-users love and to provide specialized expertise on the technical environment across the Specsavers Northern European region. You will be responsible for how the products fit together now, to how we should deliver and exploit the capabilities for the future. You’ll provide the “T” shaped technical experience, be involved across the breadth of the Commercial product and then prove profound specialist knowledge across the infrastructure, windows servers, and clients deployments.

Here’s a couple of examples of your daily tasks;

  • Be a specialised expert within the scrum team, able to understand technical requirements and the effort to complete tasks within the sprints and provide an understanding of how tasks will fit together and progress
  • Responsible for technical delivery and embedding of initiatives within remit
  • Responsible for ensuring documentation is completed for designs and transition
  • Step-in on demand to problem solve within scrum teams or in service teams
  • Bring operational and technical understanding to the team
  • Translate technical detail into understanding within the team and wider business
  • Liaise with third party vendors to ensure joined up thinking in delivery and implementation
  • Ensure that deployment workbooks, knowledge transfer and understanding is documented, updated, and understood.

Who you are?

We’re eager to get an awesome person onboard, who has a big team ethos and excellent communication skills with a bit of nerdiness, as the Commercial IT Product team is a technical team. This is a crucial role to enable successful delivery of initiatives and we’re looking to recruit an individual with operations environment experience that knows their way around Microsoft and windows end point devices and servers. We appreciate everyone being different, but we do however have some points on our wish list, that we hope that you can recognise;

  • Proven track record of technical delivery and in a technical capacity
  • Managing transition into support teams (Service Transition) and the business within a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of and experience of working in agile environments, multi-tasking between Product & Service Tasks
  • Ability to balance need for speed with the need for quality/safety
  • Creation of documentation, delivery and Low Level Designs
  • Knowledge of systems thinking, automation and/or product management enablement.
  • You know how to translate between technical and business functions.

If you also have experience from working in a multi-national retail environment, with dispersed geographically spread teams, or with Global Microsoft platform, Storage, Automation, or Powershell, that would be the cherry on top.

How will this role progress?

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Be onboarded and immerse yourself in our team’s collaborative ways of working
  • Learn about our Tech setups and our plans
  • Establish relationships with important stakeholders and grasp our agile ways of working

  • Collaborating with Ops-team and Scrum Masters
  • The go-to person for script-updates and possibilities within our product portfolio
  • Certified in a new or already known product.
