Business Analyst - AML

We are looking for an ambitious Business Analyst to join our AML Team - someone who takes pride in delivering value to customers while enjoying the journey along the way.
In this role, you will work closely with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Your main responsibility will be to identify and deliver solutions that meet stakeholder needs while ensuring compliance with AML regulations.
You will be part of a dedicated AML Team consisting of nine skilled colleagues based in Denmark and Poland. Teamwork and cultural awareness are essential to our success. The Team includes a Product Owner, Business Analysts, Developers, and DevOps professionals.
AML Team at SDC
AML is a part of the Regulatory Reporting Department and sits at the center of SDC’s Core Platforms & Applications Area. You could say that we are the crew keeping regulatory products, services, and operations stable and smooth for our customers across Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Sweden and Norway.
The department, consisting of three teams, handles maintenance and development of solutions for regulatory and BI needs. We provide services and products across the following areas: AML, Risk, Credit & ESG, and Tax, Axapta & Accounting.
Your main responsibilities and tasks:
- Translate business needs into requirements
- Analyze complex business challenges and propose solutions based on both experience and data understanding
- Facilitate workshops and effectively gather requirements from both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Engage directly with customers to gather insights, clarify needs, and provide updates
- Critically assess customer needs and requirements, and provide pushbacks when needed if the proposed needs brought forward by the customers are not ideal or in line with the product visions
- Take part in daily operations by hands-on handling of incidents and requests reported by the customers
Your main stakeholders:
Banks from Scandinavia, third-party vendors, internal Data Warehouse and other internal IT and business units, Project Managers, Testers.
What you bring to the table:
- 3–7 years of relevant experience
- Strong background in AML with hands-on experience in high-intensity areas of AML operations
- Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation in customer risk assessments, ensuring solutions meet legal requirements and diverse banking risk evaluations
- Ability to facilitate workshops and effectively gather requirements from both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to analyze complex business challenges and propose solutions based on experience and data insights
- Experience with writing and describing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and contributing to workflows
- Ability to communicate effectively with development teams
- Experience working in an agile environment, adapting to iterative processes and collaborative teamwork
- Fluency in both Danish and English
- Experience with SQL and understanding of databases and data structures (not a must-have)

SDC and Netcompany to develop the future of banking services
In February 2025, SDC signed a merger agreement with Netcompany. This new constellation is aimed to offer top tier solutions to bank personnel and clients. As part of the merger, SDC will be renamed to Netcompany Banking Services. The merger is subject to customary regulatory approvals in Denmark, Norway, and the Faroe Islands and is expected to be finalised during the second quarter of 2025.
