Senior Cloud Architect (AWS, Azure)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture, automation using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), cloud governance, and application configuration management tools like SaltStack and Ansible. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align cloud operations with business objectives while ensuring security, compliance, and cost efficiency.

You will play an important role in:

Cloud Architecture and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cloud architecture strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Design and optimize cloud infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery / business continuity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud solutions meet technical and business requirements.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Utilize Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources across AWS and Azure
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistency, version control, and repeatability in cloud deployments.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform modules for standardized infrastructure components.

Cloud Governance:

  • Establish and enforce cloud governance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Implement cloud configuration management practices to maintain consistent and secure cloud environments.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to governance policies and compliance frameworks.

Application Configuration Management:

  • Develop and implement configuration management scripts to ensure consistent application deployments.
  • Integrate configuration management with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Use tools like SaltStack and Ansible to manage and automate application configurations across cloud environments. (nice to have)

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure cloud environments are secure and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Implement security controls and access management policies using IAM tools.
  • Collaborate with security teams to identify and mitigate potential security risks.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate cloud infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in strategic planning to align cloud operations with business objectives.

We imagine that you:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud computing, with a focus on AWS or Azure.
  • Proven experience with Terraform for automation and IaC.
  • Strong background in cloud governance and compliance.
  • Experience with application configuration management tools like SaltStack and Ansible.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
