Risk Officer
This position is based at our friendly office in Roskilde, Denmark, and you will join our Risk & Compliance Department. The Risk Management Team is responsible for safeguarding BEC’s technology landscape by advising the organization on risk management in general, supporting 1st line Risk & Control Self-assessments and finally providing information to the executive management level that can be used to make risk-based decisions.
The Risk Officer role offers a unique opportunity to work with technologies in a highly regulated environment, collaborating with a dedicated team that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. You will join a team of 10 persons, where risk management is a top priority and firmly anchored on BEC’s executive agenda. We offer a strong methodological framework, ensuring that ambitions, support, and expectations are high.
Primary tasks and responsibilities include:
- Conducting operational risk assessments for IT applications and environments
- Advise application owners and their SMEs how to identify and plan mitigation of risks
- Preparing risk reports and presenting findings to stakeholders
- Supporting the further development and maintenance of our Risk & Control Framework
- Occasional travel to Denmark/Poland may be required
To succeed you will have:
- A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- A relevant academic degree (e.g., IT, Engineering or similar)
- Solid experience with operational technical risk assessments in a regulated sector (e.g., finance, insurance, healthcare)
- Strong technical understanding of IT applications and infrastructure
- Experience with risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, NIST, or similar)
- Strong knowledge and experience with standards like ISO 27002
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools
- Knowledge of financial sector regulations (e.g., EBA, GDPR, DORA)
- Project management experience
- Additional language skills (e.g., Danish or Polish)
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach
