QA Engineer for AI-first development
Are you passionate about software quality and test automation — and ready to help establish practical QA guardrails for how AI is used, while validating AI‑generated results?
Unik is transitioning to AI‑first development. AI is being embedded into our development practices as a core development tool, improving throughput and feedback loops while accountability for quality and decisions remains human.
We are looking for a QA Engineer with a strong quality mindset to help shape how quality assurance works in an AI‑first development environment. In this role, the primary focus is not test execution. Instead, you will focus on guiding AI‑driven testing through well‑defined inputs and critical validation of its output — ensuring that AI‑first development improves quality rather than introducing new risks.
We expect to hold interviews in early August.
About the role
You will work closely with developers, architects, and product owners to ensure that AI‑generated test artifacts, results, and recommendations are correct, relevant, and aligned with real product risk.
You will spend minimal time executing tests. Instead, most of your effort will focus on governing the quality of AI‑first development through:
- Defining feature test strategies and quality expectations ahead of agent‑driven development
- Defining the right inputs, context, constraints, and prompts for AI‑driven test generation
- Reviewing, validating, and challenging AI‑generated test cases, scenarios, and conclusions
- Deciding what AI output can be trusted, what requires refinement, and what must be rejected
- Establishing and evolving practical QA guardrails for when and how AI is used
- Using targeted test execution to verify critical paths and challenge AI assumptions
- Working with development teams to integrate validated AI output into automated pipelines
You will be embedded in a development area while collaborating closely with the QA Lead and other QA colleagues across teams to evolve shared QA standards and practices that support responsible and consistent AI‑first development.
Requirements
Must‑have experience
- 3+ years of experience in QA and test automation
- ISTQB certification
- Strong ability to assess correctness, relevance, and risk in test artifacts
- Familiarity with AI‑driven development approaches, and a practical understanding of AI limitations
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience with Cypress, TypeScript, or similar automation stacks
- Experience testing cloud‑based or distributed systems
- Interest in shaping QA guardrails and boundaries for AI usage
How we work
AI‑first does not mean AI‑unquestioned.
AI is the default approach, but humans still own judgment, validation, and risk decisions. QA ensures AI output is challenged, validated, and applied responsibly as our AI‑first practices evolve.
We work in a distributed setup across Denmark and Poland, collaborating closely with our product and development teams through regular alignment and shared ownership of quality and outcomes. We follow a 3–2 work model, combining three days of on‑site collaboration with two days of focused, optional remote work.
What we offer
- Influence on QA strategy, tooling, and automation practices for a complex PropTech suite
- A collaborative engineering culture with room to shape QA approaches
- Time and support for professional growth and competency development
- A supportive, international environment
If you’re ready to make a real impact and help our teams deliver high‑quality software with confidence, we’d be happy to hear from you. Apply by clicking the 'Apply' button.
