ERTMS Test Manager
We are looking for an ERTMS Test Manager who wants to join the Test and Commissioning team in the railway signalling department, based in Copenhagen.
The Danish Signalling Programme, the largest of its kind in Europe, is replacing the old signalling system on the entire national railway with new computer-based signalling technology (ERTMS Level 2, Baseline 3). Denmark is the first European country to implement the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) on a national scale.
The project is supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe. You will become a part of an international team collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
The position
As ERTMS Test Manager you will be responsible for managing different test campaigns for signalling onboard and trackside, mostly in the test lab.
You will dive into specific technologies in use, in ETCS and interlocking, traffic management, train operations, telecom and IT security.
What you are needed for:
- To manage lab test campaigns for signalling onboard and trackside, including ESC tests
- To plan, execute and report customer tests in the lab or on-site
- To perform witnessing of the supplier’s lab test activities in supplier’s lab, Banedanmark’s lab and on-site
- To coordinate with the supplier for their test campaigns and review documentation
- To coordinate the different stakeholders and the internal resources involved in a test campaign
- To analyse logs, create defects and test them
- To program and operate the line block simulator test tool
Engineer with analytical skills and structured approach
We are looking for a candidate with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer science or equivalent. You have at least two years of experience as Test Manager or Engineer in Signalling Systems, and have solid technical knowledge in ERTMS. It is beneficial if you have programming skills and have worked in signalling lab environments before.
On a personal level we are looking for a team player with an analytical and structured approach, capable of understanding and solving both complex technical problems and railway usability aspects. You can work towards given tasks and deadlines independently or in a team and you have good communication skills to ensure transverse communication with different parties and find solutions across. You have a good ability to manage suppliers and follow up on deliverables.
Fluency in both written and spoken English is required, as the project’s language is English, and the role includes communicating with colleagues and stakeholders from various nationalities.
Availability to travel periodically to the supplier’s test lab, mostly located in India, Italy and Germany.
About the Section Test & Commissioning in the Signalling Area
The Section Test & Commissioning is a team of 15 people working with railway signalling test and commissioning activities in the lab and on site.
The section belongs to the area of Signal, where we are around 100 employees working with the projects of Onboard, Fjernbane East and West. You will collaborate and interact with highly skilled colleagues in many different areas, such as project management, design and engineering, installation, safety, contract management, documentation, operations, traffic management…
Salary
For candidates with an academic background employment will be based on the collective agreement applicable to academics employed by the Danish state, concluded between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the relevant academic organizations.
You will be placed on the salary scale based on your academic seniority and experience, either as a Senior Officer (specialkonsulent) or Chief Consultant (chefkonsulent), in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the salary framework issued by the Danish Agency for Public Finance and Management.
Salary and terms of employment will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the salary framework for state employees.
Depending on your qualifications and experience, additional allowances may be negotiated. The remuneration package includes an employer-funded pension contribution of 18.07%.
For candidates covered by the HK collective agreement Employment will be based on the collective agreement applicable to office staff, laboratory technicians, and IT employees in the Danish state sector, including the General Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Public Employees' Organizations – The State Sector (OAO-S), and an organizational agreement concerning administrative officers, laboratory technicians and IT employees.
The position is classified within Salary Group 4, and salary and terms of employment will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the salary framework for state employees.
Depending on your qualifications and experience, additional allowances may be negotiated.
The remuneration package includes an employer-funded pension contribution of 16%.
