Qu­an­ti­ta­ti­ve Analyst for gas trading business

Here’s what the job entails

In the role, your primary function will be to ensure that our applications and models are always best-in-class – in terms of value creation, robustness as well as maintainability.

Concretely, your areas of responsibility will include the following:

  • develop applications and models to assist Traders and Portfolio Managers in their daily tasks
  • support our Traders with fundamental analysis, especially focused on liquified natural gas
  • follow the markets and events that impact our models and update the business logic accordingly
  • maintain existing applications and models and ensure robustness and maintainability throughout our systems
  • automate analysis tasks, for example supply and demand forecasts

Meet the team

As our new Quantitative Analyst, you will join the Gas Modelling & Data team in which we ensure that the gas traders and portfolio managers always have the best information available to make the right decisions. Working primarily in Python, we build and maintain a large array of tools and models ranging from simple data visualisations to advanced asset pricing models and machine learning forecasts of fundamental trading signals.

As we operate in a complex and ever-changing environment, we are looking for someone curious and adaptable. Also, as our role is to maximise value creation from trading, we imagine you have an interest and hold a value-creating mindset.

We also imagine that you:

  • have a relevant educational background within Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field
  • have a minimum of two years of programming experience in Python, C# or a similar language
  • are proficient in English – both verbal and written

Please note that it is not a requirement to have prior knowledge of the energy industry to enter this role.
