Here’s what the job entails

In the role, your primary function will be to develop and maintain numerous business tools, acting as the glue that holds the trading teams and the rest of the organisation together.

Concretely, your areas of responsibility will include the following:

  • develop business tools and automatic solutions for several trading teams
  • lead cross-functional projects
  • support trading teams with various ad hoc tasks
  • maintain frequent communication with both internal stakeholders and external counterparties and exchanges
  • assist with the daily 24/7 shift scheme when necessary

During your first 3-6 months, your focus will be on participating in daily operational shifts as well as performing operational analysis work and developing business tools to optimise various processes. The programming will mainly be in Python and SQL, but the position will also include some VBA programming. After 3-6 months, your time will mainly be spent on developing business tools and automating processes.

As our new trading operational analyst, you will join our Power Trading Operations & Systems team, where our primary role is to provide daily support to our power trading teams as well as contribute to business development. We are operational experts and have the system knowledge to support the digital journey of Danske Commodities.

But enough about us… over to you!

As you will be working with optimisation tasks, we are looking for someone who is innovative, takes responsibility and is able to see opportunities where others see challenges.

We also imagine that you:

  • have a relevant educational background within Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or similar
  • have experience with programming in Python
  • have experience with (or an interest in learning) programming in SQL or VBA
  • are proficient in English – both written and verbal

Please note that it is not a requirement to have prior knowledge of the energy industry to enter this role.
