Information Architect - make a big impact shaping a global data model

Do you want to make a major contribution to a global transformation of DSV – by shaping a data model that will be the blueprint for how we will become more data-driven?

This is a perfect opportunity to accelerate your development in a new team eager to learn and make an impact on this transformation journey.

Join a new, vibrant and dynamic architecture team

You will join our fairly new Data & Information Architecture team consisting of 3 very experienced and enthusiastic information architects. In time, we expect the team to include 4 information architects and 2 data architects in total.

Our overall goal is to provide standards and guidance in the grand transformation for DSV to become more data-driven – which will optimise everything from business growth to operational efficiency. Doing so, we are supporting our business units and global project initiatives with all the data guidance needed.

“Our team is very collaborative and energetic with a great learning atmosphere – which is needed when stepping into something fairly new that has the potential to impact our entire organisation,” says Adi Sami Smadi, Head of Data & Information Architecture.

You draw the big lines for a completely new data model

As our new architect, you will play a major role in creating, designing, and documenting our new data model that will be used globally in our pursuit of becoming more data-driven.

You will collaborate closely with other information and data architects as well as business SMEs to ensure proper alignment on the model – and also with our IT team, who will be the ones to realise your plans for the model. And as we have a close interaction with our business unit, we are able to see our work become a reality.

More specifically, you will:

  • Define and document the global conceptual and logical data model
  • Analyse business domains and processes and incorporate them into the data model
  • Help socialising the data model through the organisation by presenting it to stakeholders and collaborating with development teams during implementation
  • Ensure alignment with the industry standards and the information architecture domain’s best practices

“This has the potential to be a huge game changer with which we can optimise on so many areas – and you can be the one to draw the blueprint,” Adi continues.

A skilled architect and great communicator

With your great communication skills, you are able to interact with a wide range of colleagues across the organisation – and you can convey your points in a clear and constructive way. Contributing to an innovative learning environment, you are also proactive, a great listener and open to your peers’ ideas and input.

Additionally, we envision that you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or similar
  • Have proven experience in information architecture, data modelling and data modelling tools
  • Understand master data management, data cataloguing, and data governance
  • Are perhaps certified in data modelling or information architecture – if not, we would still like to hear from you
