Here’s what the job entails

In the role, your main responsibility will be to develop applications and automated trading solutions used daily by our colleagues and customers in Danske Commodities’ Gas Trading Unit. You will collaborate closely with traders and quantitative analysts to understand their needs and use-cases, working end-to-end from requirements production deployment. This will provide you with valuable insights into the operations of a high-performing trading unit and its proprietary business applications running on OpenShift. .

Your areas of responsibility will include:

  • developing systems and services supporting Danske Commodities’ trading unit
  • creating new automated trading solutions
  • monitoring and optimising performance
  • learning new technologies and integrating them to achieve our goals

Meet the team

You will join a team dedicated to developing applications that support the daily trading operations of the Gas Trading unit. We work closely with industry specialists to deliver automated trading solutions that interact directly with the energy market in Europe.

We are looking for a curious colleague with a positive, can-do attitude and an interest in understanding the energy trading domain. It is important that you are team-oriented and value coming up with innovative solutions with a diverse group of stakeholders.

We imagine that you:

  • hold a relevant educational background within Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a software development-related position
  • are eager to learn .NET, Java and Python (prior experience is an advantage)
  • have experience in both creating new applications and extending existing ones

Please note that it is not a requirement to have prior knowledge of the energy industry to enter this role.
