Asset Information Manager and Data Steward
At Metroselskabet, we work to create a world-class Metro and Light Rail system — both now and for the future.
A key strategic ambition is to establish and maintain a single source of truth for our physical assets. By strengthening our asset data foundation, we thus enable better prioritisation, planning, and long-term management of reinvestments across the Metro’s assets.
This is why we are looking for two new colleagues to join a new area within the Assets and Renewals (ASAR) unit, with the purpose of improving our asset data capabilities. As this is a newly established area, you will have a genuine opportunity to shape methods, structures, and processes together with colleagues across the organisation.
About the roles
The two positions share a common foundation, but each has its own focus. We are therefore looking for two profiles that can complement each other and jointly help develop methods, structure, and processes together with our existing Asset Data Manager.
The two positions are
- Asset Information Manager
- Data Steward
If you are motivated by creating structure, transparency, and helping the business with ensuring the right asset data at the right level of quality, one of these roles may be right for you.
The positions will be in the Documentation & Configuration Team where we are responsible for asset data, the technical archives and change management for the Metro and Light Rail.
Asset Information Manager
You may be the right fit for this position if you thrive on navigating the organisational complexities to prioritize and drive new asset data development requests on behalf of the business. Interpersonal skills will be of utmost importance as you are to deal with several internal and external stakeholders.
You will act as the crucial bridge between our business unit and IT. You will be working with the development of our new Asset Information Solutions, that facilitates a shared asset data foundation that is kept up to date from numerous data sources.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Take full product ownership of the Asset Information Solutions, including the Asset Register and Asset Information Portal.
- Acts as the primary discussion partner for our IT business partner regarding new development requests
- Ensuring that business needs related are captured and addressed in cooperation with the Asset Data Manager
- Contribute to the development of processes supporting Asset Information Solutions
- Backlog & Requirement Management: collect, structure, and prioritize development requirements and maintain the product backlog.
We imagine that you:
- Have strong facilitation skills. You know how to build consensus, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes across business units, and drive key decisions forward to get things done.
- Have relevant experience, perhaps as Business Analyst, Business partner, Product Manager, Product Owner or similar
- relevant educational background, for example, IT, engineering, economics, social sciences
- Experience navigating the intersection of business needs and an IT department from the business side
- Experience driving data development with focus on creating value for business users
- have strong analytical skills and understanding of data management
- able to create structure in complex issues and navigate confidently in cross-functional processes
- thrive in a field where methods and processes are being developed
Data Steward
The Data Steward acts as the primary gatekeeper for the Asset Register, monitoring and maintaining the health and completeness of our master data daily. The data steward thus has a central role in ensuring the trustworthy data foundation that we need to document operator performance and secure long-term asset value.
You may be the right fit for this position if you have a strong analytical mind and are able to stay motivated knowing that perfect data quality can never be achieved – but that you will be able to make an impact where it matters. We are thus looking for a person who can be detail oriented when needed while retaining the large overview and is comfortable with routine tasks.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Assets are added and updated correctly in the asset register – i.e. registered in the correct hierarchy and that data passes quality checks.
- Accountable for ensuring that the asset register remains accurate and up to date at all times.
- Develop new data quality checks
- Ensure that taxonomy is kept up-to-date balancing practical needs from colleagues with the need to keep a consistent structure
- Ensure that asset and operational data is accurate, traceable, and aligned with relevant regulatory, safety, and industry requirements, including support for internal and external audits.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate, traceable data and documentation
- Leading the work on improving the data quality and especially the taxonomy location of assets.
- When data is missing, cooperate with Asset Data Manager, Archivists and Subject Matter Experts to fill gaps in asset meta data.
- Improve the processes for working with the Asset Register
- Super-user of the Asset Configuration IT tool.
As the position is new and the structure not well established, we are open to different profiles, however you probably have experience with data management or similar tasks. You may have an educational background as Information Scientist. Knowledge of programming will be useful; however, this is not a programming position.
What we offer
We offer an inspiring and professionally strong environment with great colleagues, an informal tone, and a strong willingness to solve tasks together. You will have a role with a broad interface and good opportunities for both professional and personal development.
You will both be part of the go-to team for Asset Data and will work closely together with the Asset Data Manager as well as the archivists to support the rest of Metroselskabet with information and data on assets and their state. We will ensure a thorough onboarding.
